"Aw, Minna, you look awesome!" Laila cheered. "Can I do your hair?"

Minna sighed dramatically. "Fine."

She sat at her desk, Laila standing behind her and combing out the black strands.

"Guys," Jeremy complained. "We're going to be late!"

Laila flipped her hand at him. "Wait."

Cat snorted as she exited the bathroom, wearing a short, tight dress, in a very flattering shade of red. "Be nice, babe."

Minna shuffled her feet around under the desk. Laila and Cat had found her a pair of gold heels, which were surprisingly comfortable. "Can we hurry up a little?" she suggested.

Laila turned her head back and forth. The fronts of her hair had been braided and crossed in the back, keeping her hair out of her face while also leaving it down. "Like it?"

Minna nodded. "Thank you."

Laila smiled brightly. "Of course! Babe, are you ready?"

Cat walked to her bed to grab her shoes and purse. "Nearly. Hey, Minna, don't forget your purse. Phone."

"Pockets," Minna countered.

"Whoa, where?" Laila asked.

Minna turned her blazer open to show them. "They're quite big. And accessible from the outside too. But I have to unbutton it."

"Nice," Jeremy agreed. "Coach won't be happy if we're late."

"Alright!" Laila snapped. "We hear you. Come on guys."

Minna grabbed her gold purse and chased after Jeremy.

"Sorry," she mumbled.

He bumped her shoulder gently. "It's fine. I didn't want Coach to get angry is all."

Minna smiled at him, lips painted red. "I don't mind so much anymore."

Jeremy nodded. "Cat! Stop distracting Laila."

Minna looked back, catching Cat moving away from Laila, face bright red. Minna burst out laughing. Laila joined her, clutching her sides as peals of laughter burst from her.

Cat scowled. "Stop laughing at me. Jeremy, look what you've done!"

Minna giggled. "Come on!"

She shouldered her way into the elevator, making enough room for Jeremy, Laila, and Cat beside her. Kayla and Ethan, on again, were beside them, hands locked together, laughing at some joke.

"Hi!" Laila said. "How are you two?"

Kayla lifted their clasped hands. "Pretty good."

Ethan scoffed. "'Pretty good'," he teased. "I think you meant great, Kay."
