Fall

It had been about 6 months since Sloane saw the video of Paige, meaning she also had been attending UConn for about 2 months Since then, she hadn't seen Paige, and her busy schedule helped her eventually kind of forget about Paige and move on from the idea of them rekindling. But of course, like always, Paige was still in the back of her mind.

PRESENT DAY

Sloane arrived at her last class of the day, taking a seat in the mid-back, as usual, and sat quietly paying attention for the majority of the class until it was time to leave. Sloane began packing her things as usual until she heard a voice call her name.

"Sloane! Do you mind staying back for a second?"

Her eyebrows furrowed as she thought about a million reasons her professor could be asking her to stay back. Nonetheless, she packed up her things but instead of leaving, went to his desk, curious as to what he wanted.

"So, Sloane, I have an opening for you," he began. "One of my good friends, Geno, is a coach here and one of his athletes' grades are dropping, so he asked if I knew anyone suitable to tutor them." He said, waiting for her answer. Sloane wasn't against it, but her busy schedule with cheer, homework, and her personal life would have to come first and only the women's basketball team had the same schedule so unless it was someone on the team, it wouldn't work.

"Well, I wouldn't be against it, but my schedule with cheer might intervene."

Her teacher gained a small smile on his face like he had planned for her response already.

"That's already been taken into consideration. The student is on the women's basketball team so you have the same practice schedule. And as a plus, I will add this towards your grade as extra credit."

Sloane's eyebrows raised at the thought of extra credit as well as curiosity about who it could be.

"Oh, okay then, yeah, set it up."

He gained a smile on his face in accomplishment.

"Perfect! How does Thursday in the library sound at 5:30?"

Sloane mentally noted to let herself remember that she had something to do on that day.

"Great."

Soon after, Sloane left and returned to her dorm and filled in her roommate, Haven, about the new opportunity. Haven was happy for her roommate's new opportunity and even thought herself maybe, just maybe, it could be Paige.

Haven knew about the girls' history when Sloane informed her of their past when Haven brought up sexuality one day in a game of 20 questions they started in the beginning of her and Sloane's friendship. Haven knew no matter how much Sloane denied it and acted like their friendship as children didn't mean much to her she could tell deep down Sloane still had some type of tie to Paige.

THURSDAY

It was now 5:20 and Sloane had just woken up from her nap that was definitely not supposed to happen. So Sloane rushed around her room and threw on a pink crop top and decided on wearing the grey sweatpants she already had on and slid on her brown Tasman Uggs, grabbed her room key, phone, school backpack and left for the library.

She arrived at the library right at 5:28. Sloane scanned the room to see if there was anybody that remotely looked like they could be on the women's basketball team and so far it was just an older man, and a group of girls. Realizing she was in the clear and got here before the other person did, she released a breath and found a table to sit at.
