Nehemia was behind her mother only seconds after she woke up from unconsciousness.

"Who are you and what the hell are we doing here?" Aelin demanded.

Goldryn shone even in the nighttime, creating the effect that it was on fire.

The male studied the sword but shrugged as if Aelin were not a threat. If only he knew how much he was underestimating Aelin's abilities.

When she woke and saw her daughter standing over her with her two daggers in front of two unfamiliar fae, she couldn't do anything but panic and push her out of the way. Now Nehemia was the one on the ground while her mother stood in front.

"You're here in the Night Court," was all the male said.

"You're going to have to be a little more specific as I don't even know where here is," Aelin said.

"In Prythian. Surely you know of it."

Aelin never lowered her swords, instead just standing there thinking. Nehemia was sure she had already thought of multiple plans of escape.

"Get out of my head, or you find that yours will be lying on the ground next," Aelin said. Her threat was so good that it made even Nehemia a little frightened.

"How can a human like you have shields so good? That shouldn't even be possible." The male said.

"Where are we!?" Aelin pressed.

"I told you! You're in the Night Court in Prythian. You fell from the sky and we slowed your fall so you're welcome. If you wouldn't mind, we would like to take both of you back with us to our house and introduce you to our Inner Circle."

Aelin contemplated the idea for a second.  She thought about what Rowan was doing, how freaked out he must be.

But she also remembered falling through this world before. The exact same male saved her life and got her back home. Maybe they would be able to help again this time.

Aelin turned to Nehemia and looked at her as if in question. She didn't know what to think of it. Why would her mother ask her for permission to do something?

But no, she was looking at Nehemia to ask if she was comfortable with the idea of going with the two strangers.

Nehemia gave her mother a slight nod and Aelin looked back at the two strangers.

"I agree to your terms. However, know that if you attempt to touch my daughter, you will face my wrath and the wrath of an entire kingdom."

Ahh sorry for te short chapter. I'll have a longer chapter in the next one where they meet the inner circle. :)
