The sun was setting, casting a warm golden glow over the park where you and Heeseung had decided to spend the afternoon together.
It was a calming scene, the sound of children's laughter echoing in the distance as couples strolled hand in hand along the winding paths.
But as you walked side by side, busy with a conversation, a familiar face approached, Kai, a guy from your class who had always seemed a little too interested in you.
"Wow, Y/N? It's been a long time" He gave an uncomfortably tight hug.
"Hey... Kai! I thought you were in China for some job application"
"Oh, I didn't get it"
"Oh" you let out, unsure of what to say.
He flashed a charming smile in your direction, his gaze lingering a moment too long before turning to greet Heeseung. "And who's this guy?"
He sounded like he was forced to ask that but you took the chance. "He's my boyfriend, Heeseung. Heeseung, this is Kai, my old classmate"
"Ouch, classmate?" He asked, teasingly nudging your arm, causing you to feel uncomfortable again.
You felt Heeseung wrap his arms around your waist and a pang of unease as you watched the exchange, the tension thickening the air between you and Heeseung. His jaw clenched subtly, a flicker of jealousy flashing in his eyes as he observed the interaction.
You tried to reassure him with a smile, brushing off Kai's advances as politely as you could. But Heeseung's gaze remained fixed on the scene before him, his expression unreadable as he struggled to contain the emotions swirling inside him.
"Well, I guess I missed my chance, huh?"
"What?"
"To date you"
"You know that I didn't see you in that-"
"Yeah, yeah but at least I tried!" He exclaimed, about to walk away but suddenly leaned in and whispered, "Call me when it doesn't work out"
You were genuinely disgusted by Kai's confidence about dating you.
As Kai finally took his leave, you turned to Heeseung, concern etched in your features. "Are you okay?" you asked, reaching out to touch his arm gently.

Heeseung took a deep breath, his gaze softening as he met your eyes. "I'm fine," he replied, his voice strained with emotion. "It's just... seeing him flirt with you like that, it's hard not to feel a little jealous."
