The group knew that if the Governor were to retaliate they would need more numbers with them. He had a whole city under his control with access to much more weapons then they had. There was always the chance he wouldn't but Cassie could tell he wasn't the type to let it go after they shot at his men.
This led to Cassie joining the others as they went into the cafeteria to talk to Tyreese and his people. Carl had told her about how he found them in the tunnels and had brought them there to keep them safe. Cassie felt a mixture of worry her nephew put himself in danger but also pride that he saved them.
The clanking of the door echoed as they walked in causing the new group to stand up from the table they were sat at. Cassie was at her twins side as she walked up to them being wary of the newcomers. Her recent experience with new people was not good.
"I'm Tyreese" the man who had waved at Cassie before introduced himself to them. He extended a hand to Rick who simply stared at it as he decided on wether to shake it.
Cassie wondered who the people behind him were until as if he were reading her mind Hershel introduced them as Sasha, Allen and Ben. As Cassie looked them over Sasha caught her eye and gave her a small nod that the blonde ended up returning. They looked like they could be a real asset to the group.
"How'd you get in?" Rick asked Tyreese who had given up his hopes of a handshake.
"Fire damage to the administrative part of the prison. Wall's down" Tyreese explained which made Cassie thrown in slight confusion.
"But isn't that side completely overrun with walkers?" Cassie questioned as she was almost sure it was last time she checked.
"We fought hard" Sasha told her and Cassie could respect her answer. They were all just fighting the best they could now a days.
"How'd you make it this far?" Rick then asked straight after.
"We didn't. We lost our friend Donna" Tyreese spoke with remorse over their dead friend. Cassie could understand, they had all lost people.
"They were lost in the gyms" Carls voice caused both Grimes twins to spin and face him.
"You brought them here?" Rick asked his son, anger laced in every word he spoke to him.
"He had no choice" Hershel defended the young boy, who had only wanted to help with his actions.
Rick nodded at Hershel's words before he turned back to Tyreese and said "I'm sorry about your friend. We know what that's like"
"We've lost people as well" Cassie added hoping they could all get on the same page "So maybe we could help each other out"
"Hershel said you could use some extra hands. We're no strangers to hard work" Tyresse agreed with Cassie about them working together "We'll go out and get our own food, stay out of your hair. You got a problem with another group we'll help with that too. Anything to contribute"
Cassie thought this was a super beneficial agreement for everyone involved and she thought her brother would agree. But then to her shock Rick looked down away from Tyreese and simply told him "No"
"Please" Sasha begged Rick "It's like '10 Little Indians' out there. It's just us now"
However Rick's mind wasn't changed as he shook his head at her before saying "No" again.
"Rick you should think on this more" Cassie tried reasoning with his brother hoping he would see some sense.
"Cassie is right, let's talk about this" Hershel added. Cassie hoped both her and the older man Rick respected so much would be able to change his mind about adding more members to the group. To make them stronger. "We can't just keep-"
