"I was 17..." she started

"It was the worst and best night of my life. My father had sold me off to a wandering village. My old town, didn't appreciate women who wanted to do more than cook or clean. "

"This wandering village had me travelling with them, trying to sell me at every stop. Eventually this village of people, wandered here, into the red forest. Unbeknownst to them it was their end. As vampires do, they fed on the whole village. Unbeknownst to me, the young queen, princess at the time was there for her first hunt"

"When they attacked, I ran the best I could, but I was shackled by my hands and feet. One of the men took their chances trying to use me as bait, and threw me at the princesses feet. She snapped his neck, before he even turned around."

"My guess was she hadn't encountered humans before yet, and most definitely didn't expect to see someone like me near to her own age. I still don't know why she did it, but she cut her own wrist with her nail and forced me to drink the blood that flowed from it"

"She transformed me into one of them, or? Well... half of them. She did the ritual wrong, and didn't kill me before giving my blood, so the blood didn't merge fully. And now I'm blood hungry but can still enjoy a burger, and the sun"

"Anyways, she treated me much like you. Locked me in a cage, threw dead bodies to me to help me feed, say she was treating me well. She didn't understand. Until they were attacked"

"One night, a group of rouge vampires, they killed off her parents leaving only her and her brother to lead, she was held captive until the High order came to save her"

"With only her cold brother left, she had no one to confide to but me. She was to be made queen in a few weeks, she had a family she didn't have time to mourn, and her childhood was unfairly ripped from her. At the time, I didn't know it was after the attack, but she took me to a guest room, I absolutely did not want to leave the cage at first"

"But I trusted her, and had me sleep in there with her, for one night."

I looked at her wide eyed as i thought wrong thoughts

"So you two are...?" i asked as I clasped my hands together to ask if they were dating, I never her to even have a type.

"Friends, the best of them, you wont ever hear her admit it but she knows as well." she smiled,

"That night we had a real conversation, a real connection, after that she then said the room was all mine, and apologized for the way she treated me, and it all changed. She started talking to me, normally not as a queen"

"We've been close since, the way you see her is an untested, strong, and malicious queen. its who she was brought up to be but its not her, and its hard for her to change, I know"

"So your here to make me trust her" I say, as I sit back laughing. As I gain this knowledge I don't know whether to trust it or not, but something about her tells me she's not lying.

"I'm here to help you acclimate to your new life. Certainly you must know, escape isn't an option here. That first time you got lucky, it wont happen again. If you want a happy life, which I'm sure you do, you must learn to trust the queen" she looked at me seriously now.

"Her patience grows thin, anger her to a point of no return, and she will never trust you. She wants to put trust in you, for some reason I do not understand but you must let it happen or your life here will be doomed and you'll live like the cattle" she grabbed my hands tight, in the hopes that I would understand.
