Rain was lying on his stomach on the large king-size bed in Phayu's bedroom, legs bent and crossed, cell phone in his hand, scrolling through social media. The late afternoon sun shone on him and warmed his back.
He was in the middle of his semester break, which he spent entirely with Phayu. Every now and then they were invited to dinner together at Rain's parents' house so they could at least get a small sign of life from their son. Phayu assured them that he would make sure that Rain would continue to study for the university during the semester break and be up to date. Rain wrinkled his nose every time his mom asked how he was doing. However, as soon as he saw how his mom's eyes lit up and how well Phayu got along with his parents, everything was no longer worth mentioning.
Phayu had been quite busy lately. He had taken on a project outside of Bangkok that required his full attention and turned out to be bigger than Phayu had actually expected. In addition, one of Khun Pakin's races was coming up soon, so after work, he went straight to the garage to prepare the bikes that Pakin had delivered to him.
Rain sighed in frustration. This was not how he had imagined their time together. But that was about to change, because a message suddenly popped up on the top half of his cell phone.
"Your package will arrive soon. Please make sure you are home or designate a location for your package."
Rain squealed with joy, rolled over onto his back, cell phone still in his hand, and began kicking his legs.
Finally, the holidays did what they promised.
A mischievous grin appeared on Rain's face. He couldn't wait for the package to arrive. It was supposed to arrive in about an hour, so Rain decided to grab a quick snack before getting ready for the evening.

When the doorbell rang, Rain practically jumped out of his chair at the dining table, his mouth still full of the last bite of his sandwich. As he opened the door, he swallowed the bite just in time to thank the mailman and wish him a nice day.
He ran back to the dining table to put the small package there and then rummaged through one of the drawers to look for the package opener. After opening the box, he took out the black package that was inside and subconsciously traced the gold engraving with his fingers.
A tingling sensation spread through him, reaching down to his toes. Nervousness and anticipation mixed together in a heady cocktail of emotions as he opened the package and pulled out what was inside.
Rain's eyes grew huge as he pulled out the speck of nothing and looked at it from all angles. He carefully placed it on the dining table to retrieve the second contents of his order. A giggle bubbled up inside him and a light blush colored his cheeks.
"Poor P'Phayu. He has no idea what's in store for him when he gets home." His grin on his face got bigger and he grabbed both things that he had just been examining and ran up the stairs, beaming with joy, almost skipping.
He draped them both on the bed and then disappeared into the bathroom to prepare for the evening. As he turned on the water in the shower and waited for it to warm up, his mind began to spin and he became nervous.
What if Phayu didn't like him in those things?
Was it too much?
Maybe he's too tired from the day and I should choose another time.
He shook his head vehemently.
"Don't overthink it. Phayu has been working hard for weeks. He deserves some distraction to clear his head and let go of some of the stress."
