Two years earlier, in the remains of the secret mountain base, a single mouse scampered across the floor of the massive crater. The area now was just a mountain with its top cut off, making it now look more like a volcano more than anything else. Everything inside the rim was still charred black.

The small mouse made its way toward the center, where a small shaft led downwards. The rodent scurried down it to avoid the attention of a nearby hawk, patrolling the area. It went down approximately forty feet before reaching the bottom of the shaft.

The shaft's light systems had long since failed, but strangely enough the end of the shaft was glowing. The rodent, of course, thought nothing of it and proceeded to go down further into a small tunnel only three feet long to a main chamber.

Inside the chamber were all sorts of gizmos, dials, exposed circuitry, and even some frankenstein styled switches, but the main attachment was a large tank in the middle of the room. Now, if the mouse had known how to read, and then provided a glance at the charts on the wall it would have fled that room that very instant and took its chances with the hawk.

Now, what exactly did the charts say, well most of them were talking about splitting atoms, and god atoms, and other scientific stuff related to molecules but one poster stood out from the rest. It was less of a poster and more of a decaying page from a journal. It was the accounts of the two scientists who had once inhabited the lab and the terriers that came from it,and the one banished to the tank until a cure could be made. It also told of the debacle of their experiments to create a human that could live forever.(Just on a side note, it certainly has nothing to do with the being stored away inside the chamber.) Well, the creature inside was supposed to stay inside until a cure came, no one could have anticipated a mouse coming all the way down there looking for food. The mouse was very hungry and decided to look for some food, it found some sort of red noodle that certainly looked very appealing. It took a big bite and the pain that followed was enough to kill the poor thing, but not just the mouse. No, destroying those few wires would lead to the deaths of many, many people...

Eleven years ago, in the city of San Francisco, a struggle for power caused great trouble. This is back when the Entity, AKA Tod's mother, was still on the loose causing problems. At this very point in time she was making her last stand against Tod and his intrepid freedom fighter who were the only ones who dared challenge this beast. They preferred to remain anonymoose, never using their real names. It was in this fight that Shark was born.

One hour before the attack, professor Drew and his wife professor Sandy were both celebrating their newest breakthrough. They were both very interested in the concept of super soldiers. It was while working on making a serum to do so, that they met and fell in love. Since their wedding day they have had kids, twins. One, was eight, male, while the other was, eh eight as well...Female. They were mostly just called Brother and Sister, it was sort of like their nickname, just like how your real name might be Isaih but everyone calls you Ziah.

Drew and his wife had just cracked the code to the formula through relentlessly resourcing and testing out different formulas, and had created a few vials of it and laid them on their kitchen table. They both just stared at the vials, then at each other. This was their life's work, they then looked to their kids. This was all for them, to make a safer and brighter future. Sandy reached for Drew's hand. Drew took it and gave it a squeeze. Almost on cue, or in time with this gesture of affection, the world around them was flipped upside down.

What had happened was a missile had been fired at the Entity that had just entered the air space, only for it to suddenly grow a bright red, change course, and fling of course into a building. The fight was on.
