Chapter twenty three: smile

Lux's POV:

I was shaking in Regina's arms while she casually discussed the Janis situation with my parents.

I admired how calm she was towards this dangerous situation like but it was what I needed. I needed someone to reassure me that everything would be okay.

"I can't believe this girl got away with all these things. If I knew all of that, I would've never allowed Lux to date her", my father said after Regina told them about Janis' past with her and Janis' ex.

"Yep the only thing she got was a restraining order and therapy sessions, which clearly didn't work but Janis has respect for me. She knows she shouldn't mess with me so I can assure you that your daughter is safe as long as I'm around", Regina said and my mom looked at her curiously.

"Why is that? What is stopping her when it comes to you?", my mom asked.

"Well, I'm the reason her parents sent her to therapy. I made it known to everyone how obsessive she was so she knows she shouldn't mess with me, she also never approached Lux when I was around", Regina explained and my parents looked at each other in a skeptical way.

"Mom, dad, Regina is right. Janis never dared to get close to me while I was with her", I said to assure them that they could trust her words and Regina held me tighter against her.

"That's why I suggest that Lux stays at my house as long as you don't have a restarining order. Janis broke in once and she will do it again but my mansion has a good security system and Janis would never dare to go near me. It's safer for her", Regina suggested but my dad didn't look convinced.

"I would like to have my daughter close to me. You're just a teenager, I can protect her better", my dad said and Regina sighed.

"Janis is a teenager as well and she knows that. She knows you're physically stronger than her so she will work her way around it. She might do things you don't expect. But when Lux is with me, she won't do anything. You will see that nothing will ever happen as long as Lux is next to me", Regina said and he sighed.

"My family is also wealthy and powerful. We have connections that could help Lux as well", Regina said and my mom approached my dad.

"I think we should take the offer. Even Lux said that Regina is right and we are artists. We have to travel a lot for our job so I think it's good that Lux stays with a powerful family", mom said and my dad looked down.

"Fine, but if I ever feel like Lux isn't safe enough, she will be back with us", he said and Regina smiled brightly.

"Don't worry Mr. Johnson, I love your daughter. I will take very good care of her and keep her safe", Regina said and after that, we walked to my room, so I could pack everything I needed.

I didn't know what to feel about Regina's offer. On one side, it was too big of a step for me but on the other side, I actually didn't feel safe in my house anymore and Janis did leave me alone while I was with Regina.

It probably was for the best.

"This truly is the room of an artist, creatively chaotic", Regina said amused and my cheeks got hot.

"I didn't have much time lately...", I stuttered out in embarrasment.

"It's okay. You won't stay here anyway. I help you pack", she said and started to put some clothes and hygiene products in my bag.

It was almost like she was packing for me because she threw some of the things I put in back out while putting things I didn't want to take with me back in.

"No, not this shirt", Regina said after she threw my favorite shirt back out.

"Regina, it's my choice", I said and she crossed her arms.
