The Email That Almost Set My House on Fire

The state of California was a lovely place to go when something was annoying you, such as siblings, school, or when someone leaves the water running while they brush their teeth. The number of beaches in the golden state is almost infinite. The sound the seagulls make when they fly over your beach towel. But the best of all is the sound of the waves crashing into the sea. Sadly, most of the day you can not hear the relaxing sound of the waves because of all the people on the beach. So some people, like me, go to the beach either at 10.00 pm or at 5.00 am. When I get there there are usually only a couple people there. Some people surf or walk their dog but they don't make a lot of noise. I go down to the beach a lot because of my four siblings. Because I'm the middle sibling, my parents are so busy with my siblings that they pretty much let me do whatever I want. I have two older twin sisters named Nova and Athena and two younger brothers named Micah and Matteo and they are a handful. Yesterday Matteo decided to get a cardboard box and ride in it down the stairs. He managed to scrape his knee and sprain his ankle. Micah and Nova are the smart ones, they got perfect grades and are the teachers' pets. Athena was stubborn; there's not much more to say about her. And then there's me, just me who had a decent amount of friends and a decent amount of enemies. One time she gave students a dollar if they would give her their tape roll so she could tape me to the wall. I sat on my beach towel reading a book when this man came up to me

"Can I help you?" I ask.

"The end. The end is coming.¨

"Excuse me?" I say. unsure he was sane. He looked at me for a second then walked away. I picked up my backpack and shoved my book and towel in the first pocket. That man had really freaked me out. "What the heck is wrong with that man?" I mumble. I start to walk home. As I was walking I saw no one on the streets , Which was weird because most people head to work at this time. I look at my watch. It reads 5:53 am. I continue to walk down the street. The man's words swirled around in my brain. "The end is coming". I tried to work out what he meant. It took me a long while but I finally decided what he was talking about. He probably meant something about global warming or something. Or he was just crazy. I saw my house, a regular white house with a red door. I walked in the red door and saw my parents arguing , they did this often. It usually ended with them sleeping in separate beds so I went straight to my room not making any contact with my family. I walked up the stairs but skipped the third stair from the top because it had a creak. I walked into my room and saw Athena on my bed doing homework. Or was it Nova? "Hey get off," I said coldly. She was listening to music with her headphones. I walked over to her braced myself for her pointy spine and jumped on top of her. As soon as my bony body touched her skin she started yelling and screaming.

"Calm down, it's just me," I said.

"Aww that's even worse than a serial killer" She grimaces. Definitely Athena.

"Just get out," I said with a harsh tone.

"Fine.¨ She strutted out of the room, her silky hair flowing from side to side. She slammed the door and I saw white paint falling from the painted oak. I jumped into bed and stared at the ceiling. I did this for about 45 minutes until I heard a notification from my phone. I got up feeling sluggish and checked my email. The email read:
