The journalism department at the university wasn't large, but it was enough students for it to be difficult to be the first one out of the classroom. With her papers gathered in her arms and quickly shoved down into her black leather shoulder bag Jiyeon threw the old thing over her shoulder and shoved her hands into her pockets, ready to brace herself from the cold that awaited her on her way home.
"Miss Young!" a voice managed to call her out the moment she had stepped out of the classroom.
In confusion Jiyeon had stopped in the midst of moving students, getting a few dismayed looks from her classmates. A frown grew on Jiyeon's face as she spotted the source of the voice.
"Detective Yang?" she questioned and wandered over to shake his hand politely once again. A small chuckle escaped Jungwon as he simply shook her hand, "did anything happen? Am I needed at the station?"
"Not yet," he shook his head gently, "I was hoping you would join me for tea."
"Oh..." Jiyeon slowly nodded, feeling her cheeks heat up slightly, "As flattered as I am, I do not think I have the time for such relationships at the moment."
"Platonic cup of tea," Jungwon corrected and now Jiyeon's face truly heated up into a bright pink, "I know Jake requested for you to write down his questioning of witnesses and Defendant Jung."
"Oh, I'm not allowed to do so," Jiyeon smiled.
"I'm sure Detective Ahn is letting it slide for us."
"Oh..."
"So I was hoping that now we might be working more together than anticipated you would grab a platonic cup of tea with me, and we could get chatting. I don't know the area, I'm sure you could tell me a thing or two," Jungwon pointed out and Jiyeon slowly nodded, "I promise we'll find a warm cafe to do it."
"Well... the first thing you should know then is that there's only really one place in town to do that," Jiyeon snickered, "and that's down by The Nook."
"What nook?" Jungwon frowned.
"Not 'what nook?' it's The Nook," Jiyeon chuckled and nodded for him to follow her outside. Quickly tying up her trench coat before walking outside.
While on the walk down the sidewalk of the main road in town, Jungwon kept sending glances to Jiyeon. Trying to take note of all the places her eyes remained for a few seconds longer than they needed to. Eventually, a small shop, seemingly harmless, made Jiyeon just pull a tad bight over towards Jungwon. Stepping a few centimetres closer to him as they passed before putting the distance between them again.
"What was that shop?" Jungwon abruptly stopped and looked towards the darkened windows of the shop Jiyeon clearly had attempted to avoid.
"What shop?" Jiyeon questioned and turned to look at him. Jungwon only pointed towards the facade and worn-out sign that made it impossible to read, "Oh... that's the brewery... The Tin. T&T."
"Is it any good?" Jungwon questioned and Jiyeon shrugged, "You don't drink?"
"I do... but they mainly have Gins and rums. Wide selection of locally brewed beers."
"Not your taste?"
"Hardly."
"What's your taste then?"
"Cocktails I suppose. If it has to be pure liquor I would prefer Brandy... Cognac if I can afford it," Jiyeon excused and dragged a piece of hair out of her face, which the wind kept blowing back in her face for her.
"More sweet and fruity then," Jungwon nodded, "how long has it been here?"
"I don't know... a year or two," Jiyeon shrugged.
