"Wait isn't that what that one cheerleader demon said? That name?" Ethan said looking at Seth.
"Fig or whatever your name is why is this Gornid guy so worry-some? What's the point?" Seth asked.
"Look kids, Gornid has a prophecy to kill 24 demigods absorb their power, and use that to kill the gods. Unfortunately, he already has taken 16 of them." Fig answered
"So if we fail all of earth is just done?" Chase chimed in.
"Approximately," Eli said
"So he does speak." I smacked Chase as he said that part.
"So all of us are demigods? Like our parents had powers to control some sort of element and now we can?" Emily raised her hand to ask.
"Yes, Gornid has been noted to take on gods by himself and almost winning, but a second or third god would step in and defend him back. He, most recently almost defeated Hercules before Poseidon stepped in to save him. He is not to be taken lightly." Fig sighed
"Is that why he sent that firebreather after me and the cheerleaders after them?" Ari looked fondly after piecing that together.
"Correct," Eli only responded in one-word answers.
Chase looked at Eli oddly after he spoke up again. Eli had this weird aura to him that felt like he was just there but basically a shadow. No part of him really scared me but he was scary. It felt like a black cloud followed him everywhere he walked which while it was weird, made sense. The dude didn't speak, for the little time we knew him he just leaned against walls and made sure that we didn't ask him too many questions while Fig answered everything.
"Look, I know it's confusing and possibly even scary," Fig was preparing to say a whole speech.
"But we have to no matter what, I think we get the gist of it. Thanks for dropping this on us even though most of us aren't even close to being adults yet dude. Great timing." Mark argued.
"I'm sorry, but Gornid is not just going to wait for you all, he wants you all dead before you even get a fighting chance and he is going to storm Olympus once he decides to take your powers. We only have a matter of time to figure this out and to get you all in fighting condition before he kills you." Fig did indeed have a speech.
"Hold on, why us? There have to be other demigods out there right? Like no shot he just chose us?" Chase asked Eli specifically.
"Well, He needs two children of Poseidon, two children of Hades, two children of Zeus, and one child of every other god. Once he does that, He will fulfill his strength and power to take all of those gods on." Eli spoke more than a sentence finally.
"So I'm guessing us eight have the last five and a mix of the three gods?" Seth spoke up after breathing heavily.
"That's correct," Eli said looking at Fig.
"Yes, You eight are the eight he needs," Fig added, looking for Eli's nod of approval.
"So what eight is that exactly?" I asked as quietly as I could for them to hear me.
"Poseidon, the god of water. Hades, the god of death. Hephaestus, the god of the forge and fire. Theia, the goddess of divine light. Zeus, the god of lightning. Erebus, god of darkness. Phanes, the god of life, and Boreas, the god of ice." Fig explained to us.
"I feel like there's a but coming." Ethan interrupted.
"But, we do not know which one is which yet." Fig finished.
"Are you fu-" Chase started but I hit him in the stomach.
"How do we find this out then?" I asked.
"We train you all until we figure out who belongs to which god. Once we do, we have what it takes to beat and finally win against Gornid." Fig finished.
