The captive hero

Tick tick tick tick I was staring at my watch as I waited for my girlfriend to come out of the dressing room. "Come on samy" I said through the curtain we've been here for three hours. Ok ok she replied just this last dress ok. I rolled my eyes "Fine just this last one I said". The curtain opened and she walked out in a pretty yellow and white sundress and cute sunglasses. The dress complemented her red hair and blue eyes. "You look beautiful". I said "now let's go, I want to be there on time". "Okay fine Tom we can go now". She tried to pick up her bags of clothes that was way too heavy for her. "Here I got that I said as I walked over and picked them up." "Thanks she said then leaned in and kissed me". My stomach filled with butterflies. "Your welcome" I replied with a silly grin on my face I looked down at her bag" wow you have a lot of clothes in here." She gasped and her eyes narrowed as a shade of pink covered her cheeks. "She spoke in a mock stern voice "I want souvenirs. We are on this trip Tom. I don't know when I will ever come back to England. And I will use clothes more than some boble head of queen Elizabeth.

Ok your right I said I just really want to get to the hero evaluation and become a hero. I know she said that's why we're leaving. I want you to be a hero to save people. And with a power like yours you're sure to get in. You'll probably be a god level superpowered." That drew a smile out of me "man I love you samy. Ok let's go" I used my power on her bags and made them float next to us. We walked to the counter. I glanced at the cashier. He had messy brown hair and acne. I placed Sammy's bags on the counter. "That's a cool power" the guy said. What is it, telepathy. I shrugged "something like that" then winked at him. He just looked at me with a blank face "whatever you say man." We bought our things then went to our car.

A couple hours later we arrived at the S.H.A evaluation site. I was shaking with Nevers. I was coming to get my power evaluated to see if I have what it takes to become a hero. Ever since my power manifested everyone said I would be a hero. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Samy looked at me. "It's ok you're going to do great," she said. "You have an amazing power. Unlike mine, the power to have increased hearing and smell sucks. I mean all the conversations and stuff I didn't want to hear and don't get me started on smells. I know" I said "I'm just nervous. This is what I've wanted for years. I just don't want to mess up and ruin my future. You're not going to now stop moping and go become a hero or you're going to sleep on the couch for a week." I shivered "not again." She smirked, "then go and make your totally hot girlfriend proud. Ok you're right I can do this." I opened the car and walked into the building and straight to the front desk. The lady at the front desk looked up at me and smiled. "Hello, are you here for the tryouts?" She asked in a southern accent. "Yeah" I replied with my best Im not nervous smile. "Ok name please, my name is Thompson hansen. Ok hunny let's take a look Tom Tom Tom ah here you are." Her eyebrows slowly crawled up to her hairline. "Dang that sounds like a strong power you have there hun." I rubbed my neck. "Yeah, it's pretty useful for carrying things. "I bet she replied well there's a changing room over there." She pointed to my right. "There's a training suit there. After you get changed go through the door to your left then wait for a hero to come get you. Ok thanks" I turned then walked to the door and opened it and walked in. It was a small room with a wooden bench to sit on. On the bench there was a plain black bodysuit. I quickly took my clothes off and then put the suit on. It was skin tight but it fit well. I then walked back out and started towards the other door. I looked at the receptionist. "How do I look." She blushed and looked away "you look great." I smiled then walked to the door on the left. As I walked into the waiting room I noticed other participants for this year's super tryouts. There was a man who looked like a troll from video games. Dang he has one ugly mug. I looked around the room was spacious and the walls were this ugly yellow color. "Hey excuse me," a soft and melodic voice said to my right. I turned and looked at a woman who was probably a foot shorter than me so about 5 feet tall. Hello Miss, how can I help you? She had blonde hair and gorgeous green eyes with a cute button nose. In Fact she was one of the most gorgeous women I've ever seen. "Um, I was wondering if you would sit by me well, we wait. I'm kinda bored and want someone to talk to. And we'll you have an approachable face and you're kinda cute." I could feel my cheeks flush and I stuttered "well." I cleared my throat and then replied "sure I'll sit by you." Her face brightened "sweet" she said. We walked over to a bench and sat down. We sat there in awkward silence for a minute before I finally spoke. "What's your name? "My Name is Amanda brooks what's yours. My name is Tom Hansen," I replied. "Hey tom what's your power." I scoffed "that's a surprise and if you don't see my tryout you will find out when I become the next greatest hero." She raised an eyebrow "ok whatever you say. My power is regeneration to the point where I can't die. And I have super strength and flight. And finally I can generate and absorb electricity." A low whistle escaped my mouth. "Holy crap you're a strong one aren't you." She just smiled "well now I told you mine what's yours. nope I replied you're just going to have to wait. She groaned fine whatever but it better be a cool power or I will be disappointed." I snorted, "yeah it's pretty cool but not as cool as yours. Looks like I'm gonna have a rival for strongest hero." She laughed "I don't know you haven't told me your power so I can't say we're rival's. Yeah I guess you're right but once you find out what my power is you will agree with me. Alright everybody thank you for coming to this year's hero tryouts." A man said at the front of the room. My eyes widened, it was mindflare he is a red demigod class hero. He has the power to take control of people's brains. About two years ago he saved the president of the United States. The president was kidnapped and mindflare saved him by taking control of the villains minds and had the villains fight each other. Then when the villains were incapacitated the heros just walked up and saved the president. He was dressed in his super suit with his iconic helmet that has two antenna. "As you all know you will be performing on live television and everybody will have different tests." Amanda squeezed my shoulder "that's mindflare" she squealed in my ear. "Yeah I know" I replied. "Ok everybody as you all know after today your powers will be ranked. And I know you all know this already but it's mandatory to tell you what the rankings are. Demihuman, demigod, and god. Demihumans are just humans that are different such as blue skin. Demigods are your typical superheroes. They have powers like from myths and legends. Such as super strength and speed. Then there are gods beings of such immense power that they could change the world as we know it in a blink of an eye. And then there are the rankings in between each type of powered. Blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. Blue being the weakest and red being the strongest. So a blue demihuman is the weakest of the superpowered. And a red god is the strongest. Now that I got that out of the way come with me and I will take you to the arena." We all stood up and followed the famous superhero. He led us to the arena where we would all soon be tested. Then he took us up to the pews where we could watch the testing from a safe distance. We all sat down and waited for mindflare to talk. It was hard to hear him over the blare of screaming from the crowd. "All right he said we will announce your name then you will come down and take your test." Then just like that he walked away. It took a moment before we started to talk again. Then the first name was called
