She chopped away. The sharp, sudden thud of her knife hitting wood rung in her ears. Mhmm, she thought. The sweet smell of tomatoes seemed to fill the room with every breath she took. The chop chop chopping stopped for a moment as she looked up and just smiled. The sun was up, she saw Ingrid, her love, in the garden picking more tomatoes, she heard kids up the street playing. It was one of those days that seemed like it didn't begin and one that wouldn't end— it was just here and now. And it is beautiful.

"Whatcha looking at sweetie," said Ingrid, stealing a slice of tomato after hugging her from behind. An oddly sweet smell of dirt and sweat lingered on Hannah and she laughed a bit.

"Ah, nothing. I was just thinking..." her words tapered off. Ingrid was so beautiful. Hannah hoped she was experiencing the same day as her.

"I'll set the table, you'll be done with the salad soon?" Ingrid said.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be right over." Hannah looked down and smiled as the chopping began again.
