INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY
The tension in the room is palpable as SECRETARY ROSS finishes outlining the Sokovia Accords to the assembly of Avengers. TONY STARK, composed yet clearly feeling the gravity of the situation, scans the room. STEVE ROGERS, his face a mask of stoic resistance, clenches his jaw. Beside him, WANDA MAXIMOFF, SAM WILSON, and others show varying degrees of concern and defiance.
TONY
(seriously)
So, if you don't sign the Accords... what are you gonna do?STEVE
(earnestly)
We're going to fight the bad guys, like we always do.Tony laughs softly, the sound more sardonic than amused.
TONY
And how do you determine who the bad guys are if you yourself don't follow the laws? Good and bad are perceptions. The Nazis never thought they were the bad guys, did they?Steve’s face reddens with outrage, his fists clenching at his sides. Tony, however, presses on relentlessly.
TONY
(continuing)
Or maybe, think about it—how you always had the Bible, right? Then what? Are you saying it's okay to arrest Muslims, Sikhs, Norse, Greeks, for not believing in Christ?STEVE
(confused, stammering)
No, I... I—Tony's expression softens slightly, but his voice remains firm as he delivers his final point.
TONY
(cutting in)
I'll tell you how we determine who's good or bad while being as equal as possible, and that’s through the laws. Yes, they aren't perfect, but nothing is if you refuse to even consider them. If you don’t sign the Accords, then I’m going to hunt you down like I do all my enemies. And if you go too far in your illegal vigilante quest, then I will put you down like all my other villains. The room falls silent, the weight of Tony’s words hanging heavily in the air. Steve looks troubled, realizing the deep divide not just in perspectives but in foundational beliefs. The path forward is unclear, clouded by looming threats of internal conflict.
