"Should I do it?" I lay anxiously in my bed, my gaze fixed upon the ceiling.
"Do what?" Daina replied, her curiosity piqued as she set aside her laptop, giving me her undivided attention. "Should I confess my feelings to him?" I whispered, the weight of my emotions heavy in the air. Daina's eyes widened, mirroring the intensity of the moment. "Who? Rio?" I nodded slowly, my heart pounding in my chest. She let out a sigh, her voice filled with concern. "Natalya, you've barely spoken to him. Are you sure about this? Plus-" I interrupted her before she could say more, my determination unwavering, "Listen, we may have limited time left in school, but i can't wait longer." Daina paused, her eyes searching mine for answers. "I don't know, when do you plan on doing this?" I sat up straight, pondering for a moment, "tomorrow?" After hearing this, Daina bit her lip anxiously.*fast forward cause I'm a lazy ass, Daina goes home and it's the next morning and ur getting ready for school d:*
My alarm blares, even though I barely slept a wink last night. I couldn't stop worrying about how today would unfold at school. With nerves in my stomach, I drag myself out of bed, too anxious to eat. As I brush my teeth, I rehearse in my head how I'll finally confess my feelings to him. As I braid my hair, time seems to slip away. I quickly put on my Preston Manor uniform, getting ready for the day ahead.
*time skip u get to school*
I approach the worn-out gates of Preston Manor and spot Daina and Emily waiting for me.
"Natalyaaaaa!" Daina exclaims, rushing over to give me a tight hug. "You look cute! Are you ready for today?" I let out a nervous sigh and reply, "I have English with him first period. I think I'll do it then." Emily gives me a reassuring squeeze as we enter the school. "It's gonna be fine, babe. You've got this!"
I quickly join line-up outside the P block, standing behind Amaal. She shoots me a sly look before turning around. As Miss Ali starts speaking, I can't help but scan the crowd, searching for him. Suddenly, "Pssst, Natalya!" I turn to my attention to Mia, curiosity in my eyes. She points in a certain direction, and my gaze follows her finger. There he is, Rio, standing in line, seemingly lost in his own thoughts while Miss Ali continues to talk.
I find myself captivated by his presence, his curls dancing in the gentle breeze. "Rio!" I snap back into reality, as his form tutor approaches, a surge of anticipation courses through me. "Put on your blazer or face the consequences," she warns him, her words barely registering in my mind. My gaze remains fixed on him, my heart pounding with every moment. With a confident smirk, he retrieves his blazer from his worn-out bag, his friends chuckling in the background. The sound of his laughter fills the air, and involuntarily, a smile graces my lips. However I don't notice as Amaal observes this intimate moment, her eyes full of judgement. I quickly realise this, and I look in her direction. I'm given a dirty look before she turns around again.
I take a deep breath as the line finally dissipates, and I nervously make my way to English. The anticipation builds within me as I enter the room, noticing everyone in class shuffling around.
