All starts here. From this moment. The loud noises. The dark sky. Sirens. Everything blury. Ryuu's eyes were filled with tears that wouldn't stop rolling down her cheeks. Her eyes were so red as she falls on the ground. The rescuers helped her into a hotel room nearby. Ryuu sits on the edge of the bed, not one word coming out of her mouth when she was trying to answer questions the rescuers were asking. The rescuers gave up and told her to get a good sleep and later in the morning she may answer all the questions. As soon as she layed on the bed, she fell asleep. She was so tired and exhausted that her brain didn't even think for a moment and she fell asleep.
The next day when she woke up, she saw a letter that had seem to be fallen from the mail slot. She picked it up and read it. It said:
"Dear Ryuu,
If you are reading this then that means you have woken up. The questions we asked you weren't answered properly. I'm afraid we will have to meet up to finish the questions to continue with the investigation of your parent's death. Please dial 7627391730. We can fix a meeting time and place for us."
She looked around and saw an old-fashioned phone and dailed the number. The ring went and soon someone picked up. "Hello?.." said Ryuu with a bit of a shaky voice. "Hello Ms. Ryuu. How was your sleep?" a male's voice answered. "It was.. fine.." Ryuu said. The man sighed out of relieve in the phone, "I'm Sunoo, the investigator for this case. Hope we can get along," he continued, "So where shall we meet up?". Ryuu suggested a restaurant nearby and they agreed to meet up there.
It's a really sunny day. Ryuu continues to walk towards her destination. She crosses a bridge, the ocean shing brights under the bridge reflecting the sun. Ryuu is wearing a very casual outfit; a plain white t-shirt, a denim waistcoat, a checkered blue skirt and some white sandals. She continues to walk for a good 17 minutes and she finally sees the restaurant. It was simple and cute. It was all white, there were benches outside and inside. She walks into the restaurant and looks looks around for table number 18, the table she booked for her and Sunoo. She finds the table and sees a young and handsome man sitting there. He was wearing a plain white shirt and some blue jeans. His hair was black and wavy. He was watching his mobile with a notebook and a pen infront of him. Ryuu already could tell that it was Sunoo. She walks to the table and says, "Uhm hello. Are you Mr. Sunoo?". The young man looks up at her and smiles, "Ms. Ryuu. It's great to meet you." Ryuu smiles back and sits down on the cair infront of him.
"Shall we get started?" says Sunoo, opening up his notebook.
"Gladly." replies Ryuu.
"So please describe what happened at the scene including time. If you don't know the exact time please let me know your estimation."
Ryuu began, "It was late at night, around 11pm. My family and I were casually returning from vacation in Incheon. My dad, who was driving, wasn't drunk at all. We were laughing and giggling as my dad was telling some random dad jokes. Then suddenly a car, that was going really fast, was coming right towards us. We saw it just before it came crashing because we were at a turn and there was like a mountain in between the turn so we couldn't see the other side. I think it was aroung 11:20 that time. The car was right infront of us. The car managed to turn exactly before hitting us but since my dad did not know what to do, he turned the car and hit straight at the mountain. All of us were knocked unconcious but I was the only one to wake up.."
Sunoo seemed to have all of it noted down, more like the key points but whatever. As Ryuu was talking, he kept on nodding, showing that he was listening carefully. After Ryuu was done, he put down his notebook and pen and gave a little smile to Ryuu because he could see that when she was finishing saying the last sentence, she seemed a bit down and sad.
"Well thank you so much. How about we order something to eat? My treat." He smiles.
"Thank you so much." Ryuu replies with a wornout smile. She still couldn't shake off the scared and sad feeling.
He orders some lasagna and some pork with mashed potatoes as side dish. They wait for like 2 minutes, there was an akward silence as none of them spoke. The waiter comes with both of their meals. The waiter asks them, "Would you like an drinks?". Sunoo turns to Ryuu and asks "Any drinks? Do you drink beer?" Ryuu nods her head "Beer sounds good." Sunoo smiles and tells the waiter to get 2 medium glasses of beer. The drinks arrive withing seconds and both of them start eating. There is silence for a whole 5 minutes and then Sunoo decides to speak up again after finishing up his current bite. "So do you have any siblings? It's good to spend time with someone close to you if you need to heal from a tragic event." Ryuu looks up and finishes her bite, "I have an older sister but she lives way far away from here Korea." Sunoo nods slowly, "Well then if you're ever feeling down or sad, you are always welcome to contact me." He says with a bright smile. Ryuu smiles back and nods. Both of them continue to eat and drink and after another 15 minutes they finish their food. Sunoo goes to pay as Ryuu stays seated, checking through her bag to see if she has everything. Sunoo comes back as both of them get up and leave the hotel.
"It was really nice meeting you. Oh yeah by the way, the number on the letter was my work number. Here I'll give you my personal number because after 8pm I'm only available on my personal number." Sunoo types his number in Ryuu's phone. They bid farewell and proceed to go on their own ways.
Ryuu walks normally to the hotel room. When she reaches it, she puts down her stuff on the lving room table and sits down on the couch. The hotel room was a pretty comfy place. It was pretty small but it was really cozy. She then decides to relax a bit before going out shopping to brighten up her mood.
