Magic had always been a part of my life even if i've never had any real guidance.

I didn't blame my parents since they tried their best being both non-magical themselves. We didn't have much money for tutors or for getting me into a proper school when I was younger. I had tried to teach myself as best as I could. I knew how important it was to be trained to use magic safely but I didn't have that luxury.

When the letter came that I was being given a spot in the prestigious Black Staff Academy with full costs being covered for my stay there it had been both a wonderful surpise and a huge relief.

I found out that one of my professors at my current school had reached out to their close friend who taught at Black Staff Academy and had pulled some strings.

I was shocked that my teacher knew Gale Dekarios personally and had reached out to him on my behalf.

I kept the letter Mr.Dekarios had personally written to my family with my formal invitation. I spent several nights reading his message over and over still waiting to wake up and learn this was all just a dream. I didn't know why he was giving me this chance but I wasn't about to disappoint him and make him regret his decision.

At eighteen I knew that I should have been further ahead with my magical studies so I just hoped Mr. Dekarios wouldn't have unreasonable expectations of me.

Gale smiled as he entered the classroom seeing the eager faces of his new students. His eyes swept the cozy room landing on one particular young woman. Her unique purple eyes had caught his attention.  He could tell the weave was strong in her blood, but it was unrefined.

This had to be the girl that his friend that written to him about.  He had been intrigued by his friend's correspondence. The fact this young woman had such raw weave flowing in her veins and had never had the training to hone her natural talents was disheartening to Gale.

It made him think about what could of happened to him had he not been Mystra's chosen. A magical prodigy from such a young age he had been fortunate but he was well aware that not everyone had the same chances. He felt that it was his duty to step up  it was what had prompted him to use his influence to get the young woman into his class this year.

Having agreed to tutor her himself, he was glad he had the means to offer her the chance to benefit from his tutelage.

It was dangerous to have all that power and no direction on how to use it safely. It was a miracle she hadn't hurt someone or herself up till now.

His friend could have done him the courtesy of warning him about how gorgeous she was.  His friend likely expected him to be a proper gentleman and not a cad. Her looks shouldn't matter, she was here to learn from him and he had an obligation to teach her.

He mentally chided himself for his inappropriate thoughts. Gale should have better control of himself. He was not young man who had never been touched by a woman before. He'd even lain with a Goddess, he should not be having such lustful thoughts about a student of his.

He said a silent prayer for strength and focused on his lesson plan for the day.  Even without looking at her, having turned his back, her beautiful purple eyes flashed in his mind. It had his heart racing, his hands shaking as he wrote on the chalk board.

He knew he was in a world of trouble.

"Professor Dekarios you wished to see me?"

Gale looked up from the pile of papers he was working through at hearing  the soft feminine voice. He gestured the young woman into his office.

"Yes please shut the door and come sit down." He said gruffly following her movements as she came to sit in front of his desk.
