Chapter 9

THIRD POV

Once the trio were healed, they went to go find their friend again using the Miles Electric. Once they found him though... it was only a tracker and a note. Worry coursed through their veins as Knuckles picked up the note to read it. "He's saying goodbye..." alerted Knuckles. Tails and Amy gasped and went to both sides of him, Tails on the left and Amy on the right. After they read it, they were shocked. "I'll bet you all will be happier living without me around. Farewell. From, Sonic the Hedgehog." read Knuckles.

"Doesn't he get it already? We're not leaving him." asked Amy, clenching her fists. "We're not, Amy. We have to keep tracking him. This is an island, with WATER surrounding it, he must be still on the island. Thank Chaos for his hydrophobia." explained Tails. "Did you really just say that?" asked Knuckles, remembering that the thing that they all hated most about Sonic was his hydrophobia. "Yeah, I did. I'll probably regret it later but we have to get going. Split up! We'll cover more ground!" answered Tails. "Alright, Tails!" said Amy. "Whatever it takes to get our brother back!" added Knuckles.

They took off searching for their brother. Tails flew around with his iconic tails. His ears flattened as he couldn't find anything. Just then he saw something. "I see something! Footprints! Sonic's!" realized Tails. He decided that he wouldn't call the others and that he would do it alone, since he's closest to Sonic and if he can't get his big brother back alone, then he'd let Sonic down. Call it a debt to be paid for everything Sonic has done for him. It wasn't long before the young fox cub saw a blue dot. As he got closer, that dot turned into a speck, that turned into a blob, that turned into a certain hedgehog leaning against the rock wall. "Sonic!" called Tails

BACK TO SONIC'S POV

"Sonic!"

I flinched as I heard Tails's voice. They found me. "T-Tails, stay away!" I warned as he attempted to approach me. "Sonic, no. Stop thinking that you have to do all of this alone." replied Tails. "No Tails. I'm being dead serious. STAY AWAY. You have no idea what you just walked in on!" I countered, putting my hand on one half of my eye and reaching my hand out in a stay away position. "Sonic..." he said with sympathy. "Stay... AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I snapped. I trembled violently with fear, unable to calm down. My eyes showed fear. Tails was shocked. Of course he was shocked! He never seen me like this before. Just then, I felt pain. I groaned, collapsing on my knees. I turned into a fusion, a dangerous combo of Dark, Werehog, Fleetway, and EXE.

"WE ... ARE... GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

We ran at him, the blasted freak was somehow able to dodge our hits. "Sonic, stop! Please! Snap out of it!" He said. "NO MORE SONIC." We replied. We roared/howled loudly, and charged at him. Tails took off, hovering above us. "Sonic! This isn't you! You're a hero, not a monster! You can fight this!" said Tails. "SONIC IS WEAK AND PATHETIC. NOT A GOD. NOT US. MOT DESERVING. HE'S UNWORTHY OF THE POWER HE WEILDS, AND HE WASTES HIS POTENTIAL ON YOU BRATS. NOT ANYMORE. WE. ARE. GOD. AND WE WILL KILL YOU, KITSUNE!" We exclaimed.

"Y'know what that is? UNTRUE!" Tails grunted as he dodged our attacks. "Sonic, you've been there since day one! What was it you told me once? 'Looking at the ground and thinking about how everything can go wrong can only slow you down, bud. And you know I hate slow.' You taught us that, remember? You taught us how to fix the problems we see! You know that! 'There's a world of color waiting for us! You just gotta know where to look!' I believe in you... just like you believed in me." explained Tails. Our eyes turned from red-spiral/black/white/dark blue to emerald green and back again as we struggled with our intentions.

"That's it, Sonic! Remember who you are! This isn't you! I know you've been going through so much stress lately, but I wanna be there for you. We all wanna be there for you! You can fight this!" He exclaimed, smiling brightly in relief. We snarled and was about to wound him severely. He would've died if he didn't do what he did next. Tails embraced us tightly, not letting go. We were astonished. Our hands/paws were still in the air. "You've done so much for me, Sonic... You've rescued me and rescued me without rest... I don't want you to be like this... I know you're still in there... I'm not giving up on you..." spoke Tails.

"We love you. We always have."

And with that, our world cracked. We shouted in pain and misery as we collapsed to the ground, loudly howling and roaring, soon turning into painful screaming. Tails let go quickly out of fright and concern. "Sonic?! What's wrong?!" asked Tails. "NOOOOOO!!! SOOOOOONNNNNIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCC!!!!" We shouted, attempts to win over the mind were in vain as the blue rodent won first.

I stumbled, and shook my head to get it clear. "Sonic? Are you okay?" asked Tails in concern. "Y-Yeah..." I answered as I looked at my hands. "I'd like to know how I'm not dying," I said. Tails tilted his head. "Same Person. One Can't Live Without The Other." I replied, trying to help his confusion. "Oh... so they perished?" asked Tails. "Seems like it." I answered. "You don't have any other forms do you?" He questioned. "Not that I know of." I replied. Werehog, Fleetway, Dark, and EXE were the only forms I knew of that were inside me.

"Hm... okay," hummed Tails cautiously. "Sonic!" called a familiar voice. Amy ran up to hug me in relief, crying out of joy. "Sonic! You're okay! Never. Lie. To. Us. Again!" She scolded. "I swear, if I wasn't so happy you were okay, I would've killed you myself!" I nervously chuckled. "Also, why were you surprised that I did good as a commander?" asked Knuckles. "What do you think, enchilada?" I teased. "HEY! I'll strangle you when you least expect it." said Knuckles when realization dawned upon him. I chuckled. "But seriously, I'm glad your back... brother." added Knuckles, offering a fist bump. "This time," I started, returning the fist bump, "here to stay, enchilada." A wide smirk went across my face.

"OH YOU GET BACK HERE!!!!!" He called. "I gotta go Tails and Amy, byeeeeeee!" I said, backing away slowly and then rushing off with my speed. "I WILL STRANGLE YOU!!!!!!!! GET BACK HERE SONIC!!!!!!!" said Knuckles. I chuckled playfully, skidding to a stop. Knuckles caught up to me and the running came again, Knuckles right on my tail.
