As we all made our way across the courtyard towards the Great Hall, our attention was abruptly captured by the sight of something soaring through the air. Naturally, we all hurried to the gaps in the pillared wall to catch a glimpse at what the flying object could be.
"What is that..." I mutter to no one in particular.
"I believe they call it a carriage, McMillan," Theodore joked, walking up to stand next to me, a smirk on his face as per usual. I just shot him an unamused look in response, not wanting to give him the time of day.
"Would you look at that, there's a boat now," Theodore pointed out in an amused tone, pointing the ship out for me, "Looks like we're being invaded."
I laughed a bit in response. I hated to react to his stupid attempts at jokes, but it was funny.
"Good to know you somewhat have a sense of humor, shall we head to the great hall?" He asked politely.
"You want to walk- well escort me to the great hall?" I questioned, raising my eyebrow. I was slightly shocked, normally he'd be relentlessly tormenting me.
"Thought I'd do some charity work; I've been feeling oddly kind today...so far that is." He replied with a shrug to which I rolled my eyes.
"Lovely, well I've seemed to have lost Astoria, so I'll take your offer, kind sir," I replied with a smile, linking arms with him.
"Vinny, I said I'd walk with you not- not hook arms with you, you weirdo. What are you, five?" Theodore joked, a disgusted look on his face.
"Too bad," I responded briefly, a smile gracing my face as I tightened my grip on him as we began our walk towards the Great Hall.

When we arrived, most of our friends were already there so there was limited seating left. I sat next to Astoria whilst Theodore sat across from me, next to Pansy and Mattheo.
"Astoria, I cannot believe you ditched me in the corridors, and Pansy, where the hell were you on the train?" I interrogated as I served myself food.
"Um, I was sitting in a random compartment. I uh, boarded late and couldn't find you guys," Pansy answered with a sheepish smile.
"I got pushed around by a bunch of second years, sorry V." Astoria replied as well, "Good news, though, is that it's only us two in a dorm this year! And ours is close to the common room."
"Perfect! Looks like we won the dorm lottery." I cheered before Dumbledore started to gain our attention for the sorting's.
There weren't very many new Slytherins this year. On the contrary, there were a lot of Ravenclaws.
"Looks like Slytherin isn't popular this year," I comment, watching all of the first-years filter toward their tables.
"Or the hat is finally being more selective," Draco added in.
