"Y/N?"

Wait what's happening?...

"Wake up, Y/N."

I don't want to...

"Y/N!"

The next thing I felt was a force hit my stomach, pushing all the air out of my chest and causing me to choke and cough as I tried to inhale. I look ahead of me and saw a bag, it looked quite full to the brim, but I can already tell this was no fruit bag.

My eyes turned to the one who woke me up, Haru. A thin Asian boy with short black hair and green eyes. He wore the same clothes as pretty much all us orphans, a beige top and brown trousers with some trainers for comfort.

I could see the look in his eyes, he enjoyed waking me up like that. This only cause me to growl and throw the bag off me to the side, letting it rest on my bed. "Haru, what the hell? I could of died!"

My reaction only seemed to have made him breakdown laughing "Y/N, you're so dramatic!" I watched him fall to his knees and hold his chest.

I sighed and couldn't help but smile at the boy laughing in front of me.

It's rare to see any of us like this, to have joy in our lives. The lady who runs this orphanage wasn't the kindest either, though the people who come in here call her that.

I turned my attention back to the bag and crossed my arms, placing a finger on my chin as I analysed it. "What's in it?" I asked Haru once he contained his laughter. He stood up and placed a hand on my back, leaning against me to bring me closer to the bag.

"Some new toys for you to tinker with," Haru showed me his most mischievous smile and laughed quietly.

My heart started to race as I quickly went to open the bag.

It was like Christmas.

Bronze and silver gadgets were packed into the bag, some broken, the rest fixable. "How on Earth did you get this stuff?" I questioned whilst my gaze fixated on the bag.

"Oh, just went to the under-city and found a scrap line" he answered nonchalantly. This caused me to look up at him.

"Wait, what?" I felt my jaw drop as I looked at him. "Whe- wh-what? How!?" I stuttered as I became confused.

The ends of his lips appeared to rise higher. Is he even human at this point?

"I snuck out last night~" he spoke with a sing song like tone.

"What if Grelod saw you!?" I panicked for his sake, luckily she doesn't arrive here until 9.

"I can outrun that hag." He shrugged his shoulders and sat on the end of my bed, making it squeak from the applied weight. "So what are you planning to do with all that junk?" Haru looked over into the bag, trying to get an idea of what can be made.

I looked back to the bag and rummaged through it. Honestly, it looks like most of this stuff was a screw away from being fixed, but I didn't want to do that.

"I... want to make something, but I don't have everything I need to make it." I felt only a little disheartened but shrugged it off and began to take parts out of the sack.

"So? What's the build?" I heard Haru asking as he chucked a piece of the junk up in the air and catching it again, repeating the process over and over.

I hummed to myself as I gathered the pieces together and sorted them on my bed.

"It'll be a Valdiani."
