I was walking down the street outside my house, as Anita was once again lecturing me over the call.

"I do not understand, why is it that every single time I try to set you up with a dude, you never get along with any of them!"

"I mean, I don't know, maybe because you always set me up with the wrong dudes?" I scoff at her.

"As if! Stop blaming it on me. Don't you find it weird? You're like, 20 years old, and you've still never even had a crush on a single person!" She complains.

It is weird actually. Am not sure why, but every single time I go on those stupid dates, I can't seem to like any guy, even if some of them are actually nice people. It's as if something always stops me from dating any of them. And it is as if... I am waiting for something. Am not sure what it is though. "I don't see anything weird. Besides, I think it's prolly because I haven't found the right guy for me yet, hehe."

"HeHe." She mimicks me tauntingly. "Or... Is it because you like Arvind?"

I pause for a second as I stop walking on the footpath. "Are you crazy? You already know that's not true. We have always been best friends, and always will be. Besides, he would never like me. I can never even imagine that actually."

It's true. Me and Arvind have been the best of friends ever since we were 5 years old. He has always been my neighbour, and my soul-mate (totally not in a romantic way). He is basically like my other half. I have never even imagined myself dating him over the years. It sounds impossible to me , in fact.

"Girl, how could you be so oblivious? Have you seen how he always tries to stop you from going on those blind dates I sent you on? And have you ever seen the way he looks at you? How come you haven't noticed this for years now!" She says in disbelief.

"It's because he thinks they are red flags and he has always been protective towards me. And yes, I've seen the way he looks at me. And he looks at me the way he looks at any other girl, actually." I roll my eyes. "I'm telling you, I know him. He would never like me."

"Leela, are you hearing yourself? I have seen his face whenever I try to set you up with someone, and he looks jealous. Every. Single. Time."

I roll my eyes. "Anita, stop being so delulu for once. This is why you should stop reading Wattpad so much."

I see Arvind walking towards me from a distance. He is right on time, just as we had decided earlier. I smile and wave at him as soon as his eyes land on mine.

"Hey, I don't read Wattpad anymore-"

"Anyway, I gotta go, Anu. Arvind is here. I'll text you later!"

"Yo, are you for real-" I cut the call as soon as Arvind reaches me.

"Hey!" I grin up at him excitedly as we start walking together towards the mall near our society.

"Hey, Leelu" He smirks as he looks down at me.

The grin on my face drops as I smack him on the back. "Bitch I told you to stop calling me that-"

He starts laughing loudly as soon as I smack him.

I pause for a second as I look at him.

The sunset illuminated his clear, tanned skin, as his hazel eyes shone brightly in the orange light. The curls of his hair fell on his face, his beautiful black hair giving off an orange hue. It was as if his whole face lit up when he laughed. My goodness, he looks so breathtakingly handsome. Now I get why so many girls go crazy over him.

... Wait, why am I suddenly having these thoughts?

"Ahem, miss Leela, are you there?" He looks at my face, clearly amused as I was staring at him.
