Chapter 31
______________________________________
Angry people tend to be very unreasonable.
When one's emotion overpowers one's logical reasoning, No amount of words or actions will provide a positive outcome. The outcome of such emotions, well often leads to very gnarly disasters.
Erik was unfortunately faced with the most wrathful person he had ever met. And worst of all, he had no idea how to calm the man down. He had no idea what to answer the man, though the answer was very obvious.
' No, I don't know where they are. ' was the answer he wanted to give, but the caramel-skinned man would certainly not like to hear that answer. And if he even said yes, the same man would very much likely be very physical when he realised that he was lying.
" ANSWER ME NOW! " Nikolai demanded his bloodlust leaking at an abnormal amount. " I will give you five seconds. Answer me... Or I will rip out your innards and feed it to your filthy mouth. " Erik was even more worried about answering his question.
" Five. "
" B-buddy let's calm down a bit ok. Let's not take drastic measures. " Erik tried to passify the angry Russian man with words of reason, but the said man gave no reply other than continuing the countdown.
" Four. "
" Buddy I'm trying to help you here. You're making it difficult for me. "
" Three. "
" Ok, I don't know where your family is. But I can help you, only if you allow me. " Erik had to tell the truth hoping that there was some shred of reason left in the man.
Oh how wrong he was.
" One. "
Erik felt his hair stand on its ends at the shear hatred that was etched with those words. He saw Nikolai holding the dane axe in a two handed stance, and with out any warning he dashed towards him with almost frightening speed.
" Everyone get back! " Erik warned everyone near him. There was going to be a fight and they should not be in the proximity of the battle. The villagers quckly scurried away from him and he pulled out his sword and blocked an axe head the would've gone to his side if he wasn't fast enought to intercept it.
' This guy is strong. ' He felt the force of his swing ringing through his arm. This man was no joking matter, though not as muscular as himself, he was nearly as strong if not stronger and faster than him. If he got careless he was surely going to die a brutal death and that was something he was ready to experience yet.
He barely blocked most of the heavy hit Nikolai threw at him, the key word here was barely. As seconds go by, the attacks struck harder and faster and to make it worse he showed signs of fatigie.
The onslaught stopped for a moment before Nikolai took a step back, his arms clenched the handle as the Dane axe was lifted above his head going for an overhead strike.
CLANG!
Erik managed to block the attack, but the force behind the attack was so strong that it forced him into a kneeling position. ' I don't think I can hold him for too long. What? '
To his surprise and horror, Nikolai used the his axe head to lock his sword. Pulling the sword towards himself, Erik was also pulled towards his knee that struck squarely to his face sending him rolling to the dirt ground. Due to the vicious blow, his sword was also ripped appart from his hands and was thrown to the side.
Recovering from the vicious attack, Erik could felt blood comming from his nostrils, it was very likely broken. He push himself to a kneeling position before an imposing shadow hovered above him... It was Nikola, now with a sledgehammer in hand.
