Megan~

"I hate to say it, but maybe I am getting old." Normani sat down in the booth to catch her breath after their round of laser tag.

"I tell you all the time." Chance shook her head

"Please, you're certainly in better shape than me. I didn't even make it to the 2nd round."

Normani laughed so hard that she snorted. She embarrassingly covered her mouth while still laughing. Akira and Chance looked at one another from across the table and raised an eyebrow. They looked back and forth between both of their mothers, wondering who was going to make the first move. Megan only stared at Normani, smiling as she watched her laugh.

"Mom, can we get pizza or something?" Akira looked up at Megan.

"Yeah sure. I'll go up and—

"Can I go?"

"Sure." Megan begin to pull out her card but Normani stopped her.

"I got it this time. You bought the gaming packages, I can do the food and drinks."

"No, I got it." Megan handed Akira her card. "Get whatever you girls want."

"K. Anything specific for you Ms. Normani?"

"Uhh, nope. I'm fine with whatever."

Akira nodded and stared at Chance, waiting for her to get up. "Chance, you coming?"

"No, my feet hurt."

"Chance." Akira raised her eyebrows, subtly gesturing between their parents.

"Ohhhh. Excuse me mommy."

Normani stood so Chance could get out of the booth. Both girls walked away and Normani sat back down. "This has been so much fun. I'm really glad you and Akira could make it."

"Yeah me too, thanks again for inviting us. I haven't seen her have this much fun in a long time."

"I'm glad. She seems to be opening up more."

"That's because of Chance. She's brought out the side of Akira that I thought was a total lost."

Normani smiled, "yeah... Chance seems to have that affect on people. I'd love to say she got it from me, but that's all her dad. He could charm anyone."

"Well, I wouldn't give him all the credit. You've done a pretty great job at charming me."

Normani put her head down as she found her cheeks heating up. "Stop it. I—you're really great to hang around."

"So are you." Megan smiled at her and Normani smiled back. Without even noticing, they found themselves staring at one another. Megan took in every single feature she could about the woman. While Normani searched her eyes for an answer she was yearning for. Is Megan ready to date again? She wasn't sure and she didn't want to force it, especially when she wasn't even sure if she wanted to take it to that level with another woman. She's always dated men and would hate it if the two of them dating turned awkward after awhile.

"So," Normani snapped herself out of it and shook her head, "I don't think I ever asked, but what do you do for work?"

"I'm a divorce attorney."

"Oh the things you must witness while working..."

"Tell me about it. I almost always have to side with the women because men think they are entitled to everything."

"Don't I know it. When Chance's dad and I split, he wanted the house and 50% of my earnings. I told him to go to hell. How could you want the materialistic things, but can't even call to check on your daughter?" Normani scoffed
