Little Girl in the Rain Drops
-
Your Light
Little taps at my window,
No visitors in sight,
But mere little rain drops,
Formed in the night.
The clouds above me are grey,
The path ahead is not clear,
But at least I know one thing,
You’re here with me dear.
May you be the wind that blows,
The rain that falls,
You could be nothing at all.
You could be the snow that flutters,
The fog that hides,
You could be my gentle mutters.
It’s so dark in here,
Help spread some light.
It’s like I’m suffocated on hate,
Help me shine in the night.
Maybe you can hear,
The sounds of me crying,
But surely not,
Would you leave me here dying?
Surely you would save me,
From such a painful death,
But then sometimes I wonder,
Have you forgotten me yet?
I feel you slipping from my grip,
Gently dancing away,
You’re free now,
Off on your own little trip.
As for me, well I’m stuck here,
On the path to nowhere,
Cold, sad and lonely,
Breathing in the bare air.
For no one knows the little taps at my window,
Is my dead close friend,
Hiding herself in the weather,
Continuing to be there till the end.
But that’s until I stopped believing,
In such stupid things,
And that’s when the weather stopped,
A lullaby, she began to sing,
‘I am here, all the time,
Wishing you luck, waving you goodbye.
You’re acting now, just like a mime,
Stuck inside a box,
You want to believe,
But just cannot.
That’s why I’m telling you to close your eyes,
No need to wonder why,
Because I am the little taps at your window,
Hidden, out of sight,
As mere little rain drops,
Formed in the night,
For I am your protector.
I am your light.’
