"Oh my gosh! Siriiiiiiii!" She will never change. Alex was practically squealing and hyperventilating on her seat when we spotted the new guy lining up with the other guys in the school cafeteria.
The news about the new transferee had spread like fire, not to mention that he was good-looking. Ok, everyone thought he's hot.
"Aren't you through with players?" I grabbed my sandwich and munched it without giving him the attention I was afraid he might get drown.
"He's not. Sooo... I think you're forgetting something. Care to talk now?" I could see the amusement in her eyes as she tapped the table with her finger.
I averted my eyes and blushed at the idea of talking about it.
"How's Billy?"
"We're just friends. Geez."
"Uhuh." She wore a Cheshire smile as if I was caught in the act.
"I don't know. We're just... I think we've become close after that English project."
"Yeah? And you dumped me and went out with him last Saturday. Sure... friends." She was trying to make me feel guilty.
"Sorry. I just can't say no when he asked me to help him buy his mother a gift."
"Good to hear that you've finally moved forward."
"Alex, it's been months. Last night, when I saw their pictures together, I simply shrugged. I realized it didn't have any effect on me. You know, now that I think about it, I'm confident that I was never in love with him at the first place. Maybe I just felt betrayed when he led me on and played with my feelings. Every girl would have felt the same, right? Still thankful that I got to know myself better. And I've learned my lesson." The feeling was nostalgic that it brought back old memories. But this time, I felt relieved. I never felt so sure about myself.
"That you will tell Billy how you really feel, that you like him and you'll gonna ask him out."
"Yes. What?!? No. Not a chance."
"Here we go again. You're going back to where you started. And speaking of... Billy! Billy, here!" I saw his unruly hair. Looked like he was looking for a vacant seat. He waved at us before coming over.
"Hey." He wore the cutest smile I'd ever seen. I'm doomed. "Mind if I join you?"
"Sure." I answered him as I secretly gave Alex a death glare who looked so amused.
"I've heard you went out with Siri last weekend."
His face turned a tinge of pink. "Yeah. I asked her a favor to help me with my mom's gift." He glanced at me and smiled. "Thanks, Siri."
"Cool. Uh, Billy, you know, this friend of mine has something to tell you but seems unsure if she has to tell you."
"Alexx!!" I was on my feet to tug her out of the cafeteria for a private talk but she practically ran for the door.
"Uhmm... sorry I have to go." I smiled sheepishly. "I just have a mission to kill this girl. See you later."
He laughed, maybe at our childishness, and nodded his head before I left for the mission.
And the new school year had started and could not get any better.

New school year equals new life for our dear sweet Siri. My friend, looks like she's coping well. Good. And who wouldn't love Alex and her antics?
All is well. Al iz wel.
Guys, hate to break it to you but please spare me from your wrath. How do Jerks say goodnight? has come to an end. Siri seemed to find the guy whom she never thought was there all along. And Billy seemed nice and sincere.
As much as I want to, I cannot write any longer than these. This story is adapted from the true-to-life story of someone I know. And right now, this is the closest I can describe how she's doing now. If I write with my own whims, I'm afraid it might not serve its purpose, that is, to show you how flawed love is, especially if love involves a jerk pretending to be sweet but not really, because he is really sweet to everybody, including you.
But I guess an epilogue won't hurt. If you're looking forward to reading the finale of the finale, share your thoughts below and of course, help us spread this jerk-packed story with your votes.
Thanks guys :)
