"I-I'm sorry!" Mey-Rin stood up straight and apologized, snapping the butler back to his senses. Then she return chasing rats alongside the three.
"Thank you, Sebastian. You really have good reflexes," Isabella commented as she push gently away from Sebastian.
"It's nothing really, Your Grace," he replied.
Sebastian composed himself and looked at the four still struggling to catch rats.
He sighed, then swiftly and effortlessly caught them, placing them in the net Tanaka was holding. He dusted off his gloves and stared at them.
"You three should stop playing around and get to work," he scolded.
"Okay..." the trio muttered.
In the kitchen, while Sebastian prepared tea and the pie for Ciel, Isabella couldn't shake the feeling that something was not right. She kept glancing around, sensing a disturbance—not from Sebastian's demonic nature, but from something human.
Sebastian placed the pie on the trolley and was ready to depart when he noticed Isabella's uneasiness.
"Is something bothering you, Your Grace?" he asked.
Isabella nodded, "It's just that... something's not right. I can't put my finger on it, but I always trust my instincts and they've never been wrong."
"Maybe you're just tired, Your Grace," he suggested.
"Perhaps..." she looked at the trolley then to Sebastian, "Looks like Ciel's snack is ready. Let me help you," she offered.
When they arrived at Ciel's study, Sebastian knocked on the door.
"Young Master, we have brought afternoon tea for you," he called. But there was no answer from the other side.
Isabella couldn't wait and grabbed the knob, "Ciel?"
But when she opens the door what she sees leaves her surprised. The room was a mess, as if it had been ransacked. The papers are scattered and the window of his office was opened.
Ciel was nowhere to be found.
"Well, well. That means no tea time for today, then," Sebastian remarked.
"Really, Sebastian? Is that your concern right now?" she snapped.
"Oh, I mean—"
Before he could explain, Isabella stepped out of the room with a serious expression. She was about to leave when Sebastian grabbed her arm.
"What?" she snapped.
"Don't rush things, Your Grace. I'm sure that whoever did this to the young master will send a message soon," he assured her.
Isabella looked at him. "You know something that I don't, don't you, butler?" she accused.
Sebastian remained silent.
Isabella pulled away her arm and sighed. "I have my ways. You stay here and wait for that message. I'll go and find Ciel," she said.
"Your Grace, how can you—"
"I have my own ways," she interrupted and left the manor. Sebastian watched her go, a mixture of concern and admiration in his eyes.
A few minutes later, after receiving a letter, Sebastian arrived at the location where his young master was being held captive. Many men ambushed him with guns, but Sebastian gracefully dodged them and took them down with a silver knife and fork.
When he reached the room where Ciel was, he was shot by Vanel's men.
Vanel laughed while still pointing the gun at Ciel's head, "Sorry, Romeo! I'm going to win this game! I'm playing against the master of games, Phantomhive," he taunted, as his men approached Sebastian's body. "I do have a trick up my sleeve as well."
Vanel pulled Ciel's hair, continuing, "He's a little bruised up, but you'll be worth a lot, even if not for the parts," he said, removing Ciel's eyepatch with his gun. Ciel stared calmly at him.
Vanel patted Ciel's chin with his gun and laughed, "Come on, don't be scared. By the time you're taken in by the perverts..."
Suddenly, the wall behind Vanel crumbled, leaving a hole. Vanel shielded his eyes from the dust.
"Hey, you bastard, let go of my Ciel, right this instant," a cold voice commanded.
Ciel and Vanel opened their eyes and saw Isabella. She was wearing an archbishop uniform with a cross pendant around her neck and wielding a sword that glinted menacingly.
Her eyes were fierce and determined.
"W-Who are you?!" Vanel stammered. "If you do anything, I'll shoot his head—"
"Try it and your head will be rolling on the ground," she threatened.
Vanel and his men felt chills down their spines. Ciel gulped and looked at her, awestruck. This was not his first time seeing her like this. He has already seen her like this before.
And his father once mentioned about it—the tales of the Bloody Angel, also known as the Bloody Bishop.
