Chapter Four

The following day at the enormous office- that you were still getting used to- you were greeted by a brunette receptionist, who introduced herself as TenTen.

"Careful what you say around here," she warned, when you two began talking about your bosses. "You don't want to piss off Sasuke Uchiha."

"But I don't even work for him," you tried to reason. "I work for Shisui."

"Doesn't matter who you work for," the brunette replied. "Sasuke's the heart of this company. Whatever he says is what happens. Those who go against him get fired and never land another job in the business industry."

"That's so unfair," you complained, with great annoyance.

He had warned you himself, "What I say, goes. And what I want, I get." Still, it was annoying to have to hear it again.

"Say what you will but he is The Billionaire," TenTen admitted reluctantly.

She's right, you thought bitterly. It's just so unfair that he has to be both rich and arrogant- it's a terrible mix.

"But you work for Shisui," TenTen said, optimistically. "He won't let anything happen to you, trust me. He saved my ass countless amount of times when I worked in his department. Too bad now that I work for the devil himself."

Just as the words left her mouth, you spotted a familiar male figure walk through the entrance of the building. Speak of the devil, you thought.

"TenTen, did Itachi call?" Sasuke asked firmly, once again ignoring your presence.

To be quite honest, you very much preferred being ignored by him rather than conversing with the billionaire and his big head.

"No sir," the brunette replied, switching to a much more polite tone than before. "But he'll be coming back from that European trip in two days."

"Alright," the arrogant Uchiha muttered. "[Name] get me a cup of coffee."
"But-" you interrupted yourself, it wouldn't be right to argue with him. "Alright."

You thankfully remembered TenTen's advice from just a few seconds ago. If you wanted to keep your job, you'd have to learn to keep your mouth shut. Although tempting, you couldn't keep snapping snide comments back and forth with Sasuke.

"Black. No sugar."

You waited impatiently before Sasuke finally decided to speak up. You two were now in his office, which was humongous- even more so than Shisui's. You had been standing up for the time being, meanwhile Sasuke was seated comfortably in his black, leather chair.

"Starting today, you'll be making my coffee every morning," the arrogant Uchiha ordered, leaning back on his chair. "Sakura's tastes too bitter."

Maybe because you ask for strong, black coffee without sugar, you thought. What even is he? Who even drinks coffee like that?

"Why are you so quiet?" the raven haired male teased. "Has Shisui finally found a way to lock those lips of yours?"
"No," you replied, refraining yourself from the urge to punch his face. "I just don't see the point in conversing with you. I'm here to do my job, nothing more and nothing less."

Sasuke let out a small smile, almost admiring your brutally honest answer. It wasn't common for someone to tell him things he didn't want to hear. And it certainly wasn't common for him to meet a female who didn't instantly fall prey to his undeniable charms.

So unexpected she is, he thought.

"Fine," he said, dropping the topic. "Get these files to Shisui, and return back."
"What for?" you questioned, as politely as you could.
"So you can check in with me to let me know whether Shisui did, in fact get the files safely," he explained, as if it were obvious.

Now you truly couldn't help but roll those eyes of yours. For a businessman he isn't very bright, you thought quietly.

"Why can't he just call you from the phone in his office?" you asked, innocently. "Or perhaps, send you a text."
"He could do all of those things," Sasuke replied, with a smirk. "But where's the fun in that?"

You sighed, as he muttered something along the lines of "Go on, do your job." You unwillingly snatched the documents out of the arrogant Uchiha's firm grip, and headed out the door. If there was one thing you were absolutely sure of so far, it was that you loathed Sasuke Uchiha with a passion.

And if there was one thing Sasuke Uchiha was sure of, it was that he loved chasing things he couldn't have- that is until he had them.
