In a land where some had magic while others didn't, where monsters roamed and empires rose, and heroes conquered, where you could be anything. A land where bounties were high and the stakes were higher, and the setting of this very story..
"Oi! Get me a beer please!"
The brunette slammed her fist onto the counter as the bartender eyed her.
"How old are you, 17?"
"I'm 21, can I have my beer now?"
He shook his head.
"ID please"
The girl grumbled as she pulled out a bag filled to the rim with gold coins.
"Will this suffice instead?"
"...fine"
She grinned as she took a seat at the counter. A white haired girl couldn't help but chuckle at the commotion, afterall this place is known to be a world famous gathering for bounty hunters such as herself. The Brunette glared at her.
"What you laughing at?"
"Nothing, nothing... do you come here often?"
She chuckles as she grabs the beer the bartender just handed her.
"What, you find me good lookin'?"
"No, I just haven't see you around before, that's all"
The girl nods and places her mug back onto the counter.
"I see...The name's Opal, but I prefer to be called Dim."
The white haired girl nods.
"I see, I'm Calista."
She looks at Dim confused, mostly because the names are so different. Opal and Dim. Nobody could blame her though, it could confuse anyone at this point. The fact that she had never seen her before, even more raised her concerns.
"I'll take a note of that,"
Dim replied, putting on what almost seemed like a forced smile. It was nothing unusual, she must have just been an introvert. Or perhaps had some secrets, but that probably wasn't it. They had only just met, and going to conclusions this fast could be seen as a red flag, but that didn't really matter. Calista sighed, before speaking again.
"How many have you killed? As a bounty hunter I mean."
She grinned.
"Oh. You wouldn't believe how much I killed! You, you probably would be amazed!"
Her eyes darted to Calista, only to see her chuckling.
"Yeah right, if you were truly as important as you say you are, I would know who you are."
Dim rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"Well obviously it's because you're stupid or something. I mean, how many have you killed?"
She crossed her arms, gun-shooting a glare into Calista's eyes.
"Oh. Wouldn't you like to know. Forgive me if I'm wrong but."
Calista slams her hands on the table, before pointing her finger at her.
"I asked you that first. So, if you're so well known as you say you are, this should be a simple question. I'm awaiting your response."
"Hmph, fine, you win. I guess you don't want to bloat on how good you are huh? Or are you weak?"
"I could say the same thing about you."
Dim immediately looks irritated and then turns her head away. Both Dim and Calista's eyes dart over to the door, as it swings wide open, a colorful personality it would seem, as he brights up the room.
