The putrid liquid slides down my throat and it feels like someone lit a flame in there. I signal to the bartender for another drink.

A positive about being a member of Crasadox; an all-you-can-drink bar. "Wh-Where's Vi...olet?" I slur.

"She has the week off," the bartender answers. She tops off my drink.

Great. The one friend I have who knows nothing about Leilani isn't here. I've been here for the past two hours, wallowing, feeling miserable for myself, and drinking away the misery.

It hasn't helped whatsoever.

I motion to the bartender again. She shakes her head. "I'm going to have to cut you off, bud. You've been drinking for two hours straight. Company policy says I can't supply you anymore. I also have to keep your car keys."

Rage courses through me. "Y-You're not keeping my god.....damn car."

The bartender shrugs. "You're way too drunk. You smell like you took a whiskey bath. Call someone to pick you up because I must close soon, so we can prepare for tonight's event."

I roll my eyes and hold up my pinky finger. "F-Funk you, puta."

She rolls her eyes and walks to the other side of the bar. I pulled out my phone and entered my password on the third try. I scroll into my contacts until I get to L's.

I hovered over Leilani's name until I clicked on Lovelorn Shithead and it started to ring. After what felt like the last ring, Julian answered the phone.

"Uh...I'm a little busy right now, Santiago," he whispers. I hear a female voice in the background. "Let me call you back."

"No...." I slur. "Ya haf to come pick me u...p at Crasanhole."

"Are you drunk?" He sounds annoyed. I hear the female voice muse something again and Julian groans.

"Did I c-call at a bad..time?" I asked, regrettably.

Julian sighs before speaking away from the phone. I hear the female voice yell before trailing away. Julian sounds angry now. "You better have a good fucking reason for interrupting me right now."

He hangs up the phone and I gasp. What a rude goodbye. My contacts appear again on my screen with Leilani's name front and center.

I click on her contact and the phone starts to ring. I hold it up to my ear and the ringing keeps going till the last second. On the final ring, she answers the phone. "What do you want?" Her voice sounds like ice. She doesn't even sound angry. She sounds livid. And all of that anger is directed towards me.
