Skyler's POV

It's the day of prom. Ah shīt.

I scramble out of my bed and quickly run downstairs to get some food in my mouth so I wouldn't starve.

Once I finished eating the quick pick me up, I headed over to the bathroom to take a shower. Allowing the warm water wake me up further.

As soon as I cut the flow of water short, goosebumps formed all over my skin and a shiver runs down my spine from the sudden change in temperature.

After that, I started getting ready. Starting with makeup, keeping it on the light side before attempting to neaten the brown, tangled mess I call hair.

So the top half of my body looked awesome. Now I need to get the other half looking just as good. So, I slipped on the dress I got yesterday, thank god it still fits, and slipping on these navy heels for a pop of colour. Then I take a look in the mirror. "Oh. My. God." I murmur to myself. This person I see in the mirror is not me. No, it can't be me. No, it is me, but a more beautiful and amazing than before. A smile creeps it's way onto my face as I continue to look at myself in awe.

I was snapped out of this trance when I heard my phone buzz noisily on my desk. I run over to it and see three texts. One from Shaylin, another from Lexi and the final one from. My mum. Woah, haven't heard from her in a long time. I check the one from my mum first as I literally haven't heard from her in, what, a month? Something along those lines.

Mum - Hi honey! Sorry I haven't gotten to contact you any earlier! Me and your dad have just been so busy lately. I remembered you have prom today! Send me pics please!

Mum xoxo

I smile at the text and quickly do as I was told, taking a picture of myself using the mirror before sending it to my mother.

Afterwards, I addressed the other two messages which were from the pair themselves. Lexi and Shaylin.

Lexus - Come on over to Shay's home. We're going to have a miniature party before prom and takes pictures and crap like that.

Shay - You have been invited to a small get together at mine! Be there at 2. Don't worry, I have arrangements to get us to the venue.

My fingers fly over the keys, rapidly composing a text to reply to both of their messages. Then, I take my purse, which was already packed with my phone and wallet, before walking down the stairs. Footsteps echoing through the room.

Opening the door that leads to the front porch of the house, I see a certain someone, with curly honey brown hair and an ever so dashing tux, trying to catch his breath on steps leading up to the front porch.

"Oh my gosh. Ash are you okay?" I ask him, genuinely concerned about his well being. "I'm. Fine." He pants, tired for whatever reason. "What happened? Aren't you meant to be bringing your, girlfriend, to the ball?" I question, siting down beside him. 'Girlfriend' That word is so foreign now. "Ex-girlfriend." He laughs. I gasp a little too loudly. "Well, it's not official but it will be in-" checks his watch "-an hour or so." That signature giggle comes back and we both end up just sitting there for five minutes, doing nothing but laugh.

"That wasn't funny. Why were we laughing?" He asks me in the midst of our giggles. Leading me to just shrug my shoulders. "Well, I've been invited to head to Shaylin's. Do you want to come with me?" I ask him. Standing up and brushing the dust off my dress. "Yeah sure. It's not like I have anything else better to do." Ashton explains, getting up and locking our arms together in a joking manner. Walking arm in arm towards Shay's home.

"Wow, I didn't get to see you properly. You look, just, wow." Ashton gushes, looking at me up and down. My head drops down to the ground to hide the blush that was starting to creep up my face. "I know your blushing Sky. Don't need to hide it."

We reach the Archeletta house and by now our arms were both unhinged and not interlocked. Ash rings the doorbell and waits for someone inside to open the door. Out comes Lexus looking amazing. "Hi Lex!" We both say in eerie unison. "That was creepy." She points out, looking at both of us funny. "Shay and her parents and Josh and his parents are inside. Mine are on a business trip as per usual. Come on in." She didn't mention Luke which is strange as I still don't know why they broke up. And with gossip spreading fast in our school, I have to ask because if it was any normal break up, I'd know about it by now. Note to self, ask Lexi about this later.

She moved out the way so the two of us could walk in. Which we did so however me and Lex started making my way to the backyard where most of the chatter was coming from whilst Ash went some other direction. Now,  I take a better look at Lexi who was looking like an angel. She had on this deep purple, velvet mini dress that I envied deeply with white stilettos that made her taller than she already is. "You look beautiful Lexi!" I compliment, surveying her outfit one last time. "Thanks. It was a small something from my parents before they headed off to their most recent business trip."

"Can I ask you a question Lex?" I ask her as we were walking to the backyard. "You just did." She laughs and I realise it too before joining in her laughs. "But yes. You may."

"What happened between you and Luke?"

Her eyes widen and her cheeks flush. Her mouth is moving but no sound is coming out. Before she could embarrass herself further, she runs away.

Way to make a situation awkward Sky!

I sigh before continuing to make my way to the backyard. Like Lexi said before, Shay and Josh were both there talking to each others' parents. Once Shay subsided from her conversation and walked up to her. This girl looked like she was on fire for God sake. No, I'm serious. A dark crimson material made up her floor length dress whilst there were orange accents scattered across the top. "You look drop dead gorgeous in that dress Shay. Seriously. I'm dying." I tell her, pretending to die. "I should be the one dying. You look like a goddamn angel in that for Pete's sake." I chuckle a bit at her response but her eyes ain't lying. "Josh is so lucky to have you."

"And Ash is lucky to have you." That made me raise an eyebrow. "But we're not together and he is still technically in a relationship. Just hitting a bump in the road." I state, putting out a facts. "That doesn't stop me though. You two are still OTP." I smile a bit and blush slightly at her statement. "Whatever floats your boat mate. Oh, here comes your prince charming right now." I tell Shay as she turns around to see Josh, snaking a hand round her waist.

"GUYS OUR RIDE IS HERE! LET'S TAKE PICTURES!" I hear Lexi screech from somewhere in the house. We all meet up in the backyard and pose for the picture. "Where is Ash?" Shay asks me. I look around and see that he really isn't in sight. "I'll go and find him." I whisper back to her, excusing myself and trying to look for the missing man.

I see him in the corner of the house on his phone. Whisper-yelling at someone. "I'm breaking up with you and that's final!" He shouts, making me jump back a bit at the sudden hostility. Guess he is talking to Waffles. "Ash. We're taking group photos in the backyard." I whisper, scared of him almost. "Okay. I'll be there in a second." He replies back softly and I smile.

"OMG! Major Ashler feels right now! OTP all the way Sky!"
