Chapter - 8
___________Lexi walked inside her gate.
And what she wasn't expecting was his dad crossing his arms and standing right outside the entrance.
Even in the distance, he was confused and furious.
Oh no.
She tried to act cool as she walked and tried to ignore his eyes.
"Where were you?" March said.
Lexi froze and slowly turned towards him.
She knew it was not going to end well.
"I was with-"
"I saw who you were with." He turned and a grave-like expression made her uncomfortable to explain her part.
Where was her mother when she needed her the most, she couldn't look into her dad's eyes.
Even explaining what might have happened, they won't be buying it, and all in all, if it's related to Exel, breathing around him was also as sinful as equal to killing 10 people together.
Lexi didn't want him to get angry at her.
She sat on the floor and kneeled looking at the floor as if her mother was watching everything, she pursed her lips to not interfere between father and daughter, even her heart hurt looking at her daughter like that.
"I am sorry, Dad." She said.
March clenched his fist, why his daughter was so obedient and honest? His heart cried for her well-being. She was an easy target for the wrong people if he wasn't around.
That thought made him to be strict with her.
"I don't want this day to happen ever again if I see or hear about it-" He didn't complete his words and walked inside.
She kneeled on the floor for almost 20 minutes, her mom didn't come to comfort her tense state.
When she stood up, her knees were red and it was painful, but she let her inner turmoil be tied to the anchor within her.
After having dinner alone in the Dinner Hall, she stood and walked to his office.
March was fixing the papers and was sitting on his seat, typing on the computer in late hours.
Lexi gulped and knocked on the door, which made his fingers stop typing. He looked up at her.
"Come." He said.
He stood up from his seat and signed her to sit there.
She sat silently looking at him.
"You see this?" He pointed to the manuscript.
He pointed at the screen and said - "Type everything on this manuscript, if necessary add the graphs and designs."
Lexi gapped at the amount of pages stacked one over the other.
"It's 800 pages exactly."March read her mind.
She snapped back at him, she was flabbergasted.
"I have to type all this?" She confirmed, still not believing.
March's voice was filled with authority - "You have a problem?"
She shook her head in denial.
He patted her head and said - "You are going to complete this within 2 days, which means, count this evening as your 1st."
He saw the disbelief in her eyes. But she looked down and started to type instantly as she knew she had no time to whine.
He walked out of the room, Delilah stood outside the office in her nightgown.
