Chapter 2

(The next day)

The next day I woke up only to find myself alone. Where the shit was Asher. Before I could get up and go look for him he came into the garden and looked like someone was chasing him with a knife. He said:

(Asher) run! It's after us!

(Serena) what's after us.

He didn't reply. Instead he dragged me through the forest till I couldn't run more.

(Serena) Asher, I cant run more.

(Asher)okay, sit down and keep your damn mouth shut

(Serena) no, I will not do that! Never! You can't make me

(Asher)please, please keep quiet!

(Serena) okay.

(Asher) I have to go now. I need to erect the magic barriers so that I'll temporarily stop the monster from getting here

(Serena) no! I'll be bored here all alone

But again he didn't reply and just left! Curse him! I wasn't sure what to do so I got up and started exploring. I made sure to mark my trail with a stick in case I get lost. Soon I found myself Infront of a graveyard. I walked inside to see a toddler girl chanting something in some kinda ritual. I slowly walked up and waited till the chanting ended. Then I said hi.

(Serena) um....hi?

(Toddler) hello. What brings you here?

(Serena) I was just exploring....and I ended up here. I was kinda hungry and wanted something to eat.

I was actually not that hungry but I knew I would need food sooner or later so I said that.

(Toddler) I know you are not hungry. Tell me the truth and I'll give you what you ask.

I knew it was useless to ask how she knew coz the people in his forest are damn weird. So I explained everything from the start.

When I was done:

(Toddler) okay then! Here have this

Bag of mangoes! And this bag of strawberries!

(Serena) Ok. Thx

(Toddler) ok then! Leave now!

I obediently left. I used my trail to get back to the tree. I waited for sometime for Asher but he didn't come. So I took another stick and started a new trail. I Walked for ages but seemed to get nowhere. Tired I sat down under a tree.

Just then I heard a sound like that of thunder. It started raining. The wind picked up. Lightning lit the sky and I knew I wasn't safe under a tree. Trees are likely to be stuck by lightning and I got the proof of it the very next moment as a nearby tree came crashing down.

I got up on my feet again and ran. But I knew running was useless coz I'm in a damn forest and wherever I go I'll be flipping surrounded by trees. The tree nearest to me fell and I was trapped Under it. I struggled till I had no more energy. I felt it was all over. I didn't even have the strength left to scream. I cried. Just then I heard foot steps. Someone approched.

It was Asher! He magically levitated the tree off me. I ran to give thank him but I couldn't and fell down on the ground. Seeing that he helped me sit up. At least he tried too but I was too weak to do it.

he gave me some water. While I drank it he told me how he had seen the storm and tried to find me using my trail. Sometime later I could get up so we went home and fell asleep in the garden

Asher and I have known each other for a very short time but I feel some attraction towards him which I can't really understand.
