"Ash, you're late again", sighed Mrs Hayley, their form tutor.
"I'm really sorry miss, something important came up" Ash replied.
"Well, that's the third time you've been late this week. I'll have to give a a detention"
"Yes miss."
Ash sighed. She knew that this would have been inevitable but it still stung. It didn't really matter anyways. Ash had nothing better to do apart from texting her friends and doing homework.
She took a seat at her desk and her friend Scarlet immediately began to question her absence. Ash quickly filled her in and she looked at her disapprovingly. "Ash, you really need to work on your time management. Try and wake up early or something, I guess"
Groan. Scarlet was very nice but she really didn't know how to read a person's face. Or voice. Whatever.
"Also, guess what?", Scarlet said.
"What?" Ash mumbled.
"Didn't you see the notices?"
"No, I was late."
"Well it basically said something about a new club."
"About?"
"Running!"
Ash gave her the biggest death glare in the world. She hated running more than any other sport they did at school and would start hyperventilating before even reaching the track. Why on earth would she do it for fun?
