Blaise found him on the roof he had no idea how he got here he went over to dazai and looked over at him he had his shoes off with his legs hung over the side looking down "I got lost and ended up here" dazai said not looking up at Blaise he sounded different then usual Blaise didn't know how to describe the tone of voice his mind told him empty looking at dazais face he looked blank none of his usual cheer "you know this would be a good place to just jump off and end it" Blaise gave him a concerned look as it didn't sound at all like he was joking dazai looked up and gave a laugh it was uncanny how it could sound so normal while dazais face is so blank dazai looked back down " blaize shouIdt worry so much i won't mori said not to at hogwarts" Blaise looked at him confused and concerned "you mean he told you not to jump off roofs at hogwarts??" Dazai shook his head "not exactly he told me not to try to kill myself at hogwarts" Blaise tilted his head wondering if he should bring up the implications that he's tried killing himself before he could say anything dazai speaks again "mori always says I shouldn't try killing myself he says it worries him but I know he doesn't want me to die cause I'm too important to the port mafia" this time Blaise had enough time to reply "why's a 12 year old so important?" He doesn't want dazai to kill himself either but he felt saying that would be the wrong thing to say right now dazai looks up at Blaise again "how much do you know about how mafias work?" Blaise replys "not much just what you've told me" dazai nods "right if I explain it to you do you promise not to tell anyone not Eben draco"
That surprised Blaise everything related to the pm  that dazais talked about was shared between the 3 of them but this time dazai doesn't want Draco knowing "ok I won't tell him" dazai smiles a bit "Mori wasn't always the boss" that was obvious enough to Blaise although there was an implication that dazai joined the pm before mori was the boss dazai continued  "I don't know all of the boss's over the years but there was one before mori he was well he was to put it nicely a Tyrant he was destroying the mafia from the inside out he wasn't mentally stable enough to lead so I gave mori the idea that he should" dazai pauses for a moment looking at Blaise as if complicating what to say Blaise thought it was best not to respond and wait for him to continue "take over so mori took care of the old boss to take the position himself" he said a bit slower as if not giving all the details "but mori  Technically wasn't supposed to be boss" he looked over at Blaise "mori wasn't the underboss there for after the okd bosses passing he wasn't supposed to take over" dazai looked at Blaise but after seeing his confused look at the word underboss he elaborated "right you wouldn't know what that means basically its your position in the hellhounds it's second in command the underboss is the person right below the boss they are the one meant to take over after the boss often times the underboss is the child of the boss the mafia has a whole thing about family but usually the position is secured by the bosses kid the moment they are born unless the boss has more then one kid then the position goes to the one that the boss seems fit" dazai stops for a moment before continuing "mori wasn't the underboss he was head of medical so he wasn't meant to become leader so he ended up having trouble getting people to follow his lead it takes a whike for that sorta thing ive been helping him" Blaise notices the implication that mori become boss more recently but also has a question so he asks "why didn't the underboss become boss" dazai looks up at him again "because that would have caused more issues with people thinking he shouldn't lead since they would have viewed him as too young to lead even though he was raised his whole life to take over" Blaise had another question "what happened to the underboss after mori took over" dazai nods "well that's easy he's still the underboss if anything happens to mori he'll take over" Blaise felt like he was missing something that should be obvious
