[POV: ENGEL.]

[🪶] My back was leaning against the wall, severely injured, barely moving. One of my eyes was sore, and I could tell that it was red from the blood that dripped down. I had scratches but fortunately no stab wounds from the teachers.

I lost all my energy fighting them, who left me here to die... I don't think I will be able to even survive these wounds, anyway...

But... Claire...

No, I have to live! She needs me, and I need her.

I weakly stand up, rubbing my back as I do so. My legs tremble as I try to support my weight, placing one hand on the wall to make it easier to not fall, and another in my punched stomach. I take a deep breath, and make my way to somewhere safe.

[🪶] ➥As I walk through the hallway, I stared down, the pain unbearable to the point I almost collapsed into my knees. I seriously could not go on anymore, my head spun, and my stomach felt like I was stabbed ten times. But I cannot give up, I have to save her.

I forced my head up, widening my eyes when I realize the hallway was starting to become 3D, more colored and detailed than ever. It swallowed the whole room into a new form. I remained intact, however, still keeping my paper appearance. I was confused at the sudden change, but I proceeded to search where Claire could be, anyway.

I hope she's fine.

[🪶] ➥After a while, I finally arrive at a certain place. Honestly, I don't even care where I am, as long as I find the other teachers, I think I should be fine.

I think I've been walking for a long time, now... It... hurts... I think I'm going to pass out... I can't... go on...

Everything was becoming dark, my vision slowly became blurry as my legs struggled to keep up.

......

Quick taps started to fade in, footsteps, I think. They sounded pretty drowned out, though, since I was very dizzy. I was about to shut down, but was immediately interrupted by someone hugging me in the front, startling me awake.

I winced in pain as the person squeezed a spot (which was my stomach) that was damaged. They luckily heard my whine, and instantly backed away.

My gaze was getting fixed, and I was finally able to hear again. The person who hugged me was none other than Bubble, my best friend.

Her eyes screamed worried sick, she carefully grabbed my arm and saw the horrible injuries around my face and body. I could feel her panicking. She started to treat my wounds as small tears formed by the corner of my eyes.

Poor Bubble... I hate seeing her like this.

"B-Bubble..." I managed to mutter. Bubble looked at me confused, but still keeping her worry. "Where... Claire... Where's Claire?" I ask, gasping between my sentences. Bubble pondered for some seconds, before answering 'I don't know' by shrugging.

I sigh in disappointment, maybe she's not here.

Wait, what's that?

Many students and teachers were surrounding an exit door, a couple of them were mumbling while others were just staring. I wondered what they were looking at, so I leaned to the side a bit. I squinted my eyes a little just to see better.

Although it was far away, I caught a glimpse of what seemed to be a crimson liquid slowly growing. I gasped, could've a student gotten hurt? Is that why they are staring?

I directed my gaze to the beginning of the red liquid, I felt my heart sink when I recognize the bow lying on the ground, soaked in blood.

Oh.

Oh. No.

I immediately went to the crowd of students and teachers, not caring if they were bothered by the fact I was going in their way. Bubble stared at me, puzzled, but she decided to follow to see what I was doing.

"Out of the way!" I shout, shoving the principal aside. She looked at me, annoyed, but decided to let it slide.

When the crowd was finally behind me, I couldn't help but scream in shock when I saw who the dead person was.

Claire.

Intestines removed, one eye out of her socket, some limbs missing. The horrifying image in front of me made me feel nothing but pure guilt and disgust. I started sobbing and slowly walking to her dismembered corpse, before finally losing balance and falling to my knees.

I covered my face with my hands, my cries now muffled but still audible.

How could I let this happen?

Bubble as well saw the horrible fate of our friend, her eyes expressed sadness but no tears. She saw me crying before Claire's body and walked up to me awkwardly, sitting next to me. She placed her hand on my shoulder, making me slowly look up at her, my eyes red from crying.

[🫧] "I'm... It's okay, Engel. I'm sorry..." She whispered. I paused for a bit.

I immediately hugged her tight, sobbing on her shoulder and kept mumbling "I'm sorry" to Claire and her. Bubble sighed, returning the hug.

If only I could have known sooner, if only those... damn teachers didn't block my way, then maybe... I could have protected her. She could have lived. I could have told her how much she meant to me, how much I liked her...

How much I loved her.

"Zip, Oliver, what are you doing?"

I heard a familiar voice from behind. I turned my head and saw the teachers (who beat me up earlier) angry at two students, who I recognized pretty easily. One of them was holding a pencil, and another a fake exit door sign. In the back, I noticed Alice's room was slightly open.

Could have they...?

My sad expression slowly shifted to anger just by the thought those damn bastards killed my friend. My crush. I glared daggers at them as Miss Circle scolded them for pranking a student, despite the fact she wanted to kill her a few seconds ago. They had their heads lowered, looking ashamed of what they caused.

But they weren't guilty at all, I could tell by the small smirks in their faces, their stupid giggles of joy hidden from the sight of the teachers.

I hated them. I freaking hated them.

Bubble noticed I was staring too much at something, and nudged me out of curiosity. My mind completely changed back to her, and I simply shrugged her thoughts off, saying that I was just remembering my time with Claire when she was still alive.

She nodded, helping me up and making her way to the Nurse Room.

AUTHOR SPEAKING —

Aaaand that marks the end of this chapter! What did you all think? I'm sorry if the personalities don't fit, but come on! We barely know anything about them, don't blame me!

Anyway, this story, if you haven't read the description, is heavily inspired by Engel_Lmao's story called "Engel's Insanity". It's a perfect FPE story, and I really want you all to read it.

The chapters will come out slow, as I am working on school and other stuff. I mean, I have a TikTok and YouTube channel to take care of, as well as personal stuff. I hope y'all understand that! :3
