"That wasn't so bad, was it?" Scarlet smiled.
"I guess. But I'm definitely not going again" Ash puffed. She took out her inhaler.
"But you can't quit! That's not very sportsmanlike at all." exclaimed Scarlet.
"I could not care less. My asthma will not tolerate this at all. I can barely run to class after lunch."
Scarlet just looked at her with that same dissatisfied look that she gave Ash whenever she did something she didn't like. It was the same look Alicia gave her when they fell out back in primary school. Luckily, that hadn't happens since, and they were in Year 9 now.
"Anyways, I'm gonna check on what May, Jess and Alya are doing." Ash said, turning to leave. They were her other friends. She had tried to merge them but Alya and May seemed to hate Scarlet and Jess looked like she wanted to kill Alicia when they were withen 5 feet of eachother. Ash wasn't sure why.
"Ok, see you later!" replied Scarlet.
Ash ran over to the Landing near the Geography building where they always sat. For some reason, they prefered the sitting on the cold concrete instead of the nice grass near the tree. They were a strange group.
"Hey Ash. How's life?" Jess asked when she got near.
"About the same as usual" Ash mumbled, still trying to get her breath back. "I went to a running club."
"I could tell. How was it?"
"It was ok. Not going again though."
Alya laughed at that comment. "You can be really funny sometimes" she smiled.
Ash wasn't sure how to take that, because she wasn't trying to be funny. She checked her watch again. 2:28! They had 2 minutes to get to science!
