Minji teased you about how hot you looked in your dress. "You look so hot, seriously!" she said, causing you to swat her arm playfully.
"You look great too, Minji," you retorted with a smirk, "especially when Sunghoon's around." Minji blushed and giggled, nudging you in return.
Then Jen approached you, her expression more serious. "Karina asked about you," she said, causing your heart to sink. The mention of Karina's name was enough to dampen your mood even further.
Just then, as if she had been summoned, Karina tapped your shoulder. You turned around to face her and the rest of AESPA. With a fake smile, Karina said, "I've never seen you at a party before. I thought you were too busy improving your dance skills."
You shook your head, trying to mask your disappointment, but it was clear that her words hit their mark.
Karina continued, her tone dripping with false concern. "You look so skinny. Is your company not feeding you well?"
Before you could respond, the PROMISE members jumped to your defense. "That's enough, Karina," Minji said sternly. "It's shameless to talk down to another idol like that."
Karina and her group scoffed and walked away, but your heart raced as you saw them heading towards ENHYPEN. Panic set in as you imagined what Karina might say to Heeseung and his friends.
Minji squeezed your shoulder reassuringly. "We've got your back," she said. "Don't let her get to you."
You nodded, but the anxiety gnawed at you. You watched as Karina approached Heeseung and the rest of ENHYPEN, a smug look on her face. She was up to something, and you feared the worst.
Karina sidled up to Heeseung, her smile sweet but her intentions anything but. "Heeseung!" she called out, drawing his attention. "I just had a little chat with your girlfriend."
Heeseung's expression softened at the mention of you, but Karina quickly continued. "I was just telling her how much of a struggle it must be for her to keep up with you, considering she's not really idol material."
