"I still have no idea why we're here. "
Heeseung's voice was heard along with the faint sounds of the waves creating as it crashes to the seashore. He is holding a plastic bag while looking at Yeojin who is busy spreading the thick sheet at the seashore.
"Stop talking and just help me spread this, Heeluv. "
The way his nickname that she made easily rolled her tongue got him thinking if she sounded the same whenever she calls him that online.
He crouched down and put the plastic bag to the side and helped her spreading the sheets.
Once they're done, Yeojin settled on the right side. She pat the space next to her. "Come here quickly! "
Heeseung obliged without a word. He sat down next to her and handed her the plastic bag with a blue watermark imprinted on it.
"Here. " She says, handing him the bottle of mogu-mogu.
"Mogu-mogu? " He asked, confused.
Yeojin nodded then emptied her bottle and immediately lied down the sheet, her eyes staring the moon less night.
Heeseung did the same.
"I remember when you gave me the last bottle of mogu-mogu in your campus before. " She spoke, reminiscing the time when she still didn't know the man.
"You remember that? " Heeseung asked, lifting Yeojin's head to put his arm under so she could use it as a pillow.
She smiled. "Of course! You're the only person who had let me have the last bottle of mogu-mogu in my entire life. "
He hummed.
She faced him and looked at him through her lashes. "You didn't tell me you had an exam yesterday. "
"Yes, I didn't. "
"Why? "
"Because I don't want to. " He answered truthfully. "Because I want to take care of you. "
Oh how fast the night changes. The last time Yeojin checked, it's only a one sided. But now, even though the man doesn't say it, she knows. She can feel it. As assuming as it sounds. And that is enough.
They are the only ones in the area and Yeojin prefer it that way. At least they can have privacy, especially that she's planning to reveal a secret she has never told to anyone. Not even to her friends.
"You asked me before about my hatred to your school, " she started which Heeseung just answered with a humm. "If the hate is solely because of the rivalry and such, but I said no. "
"You did. "
"Yes, I did. " She repeated. "Did you know I was ghosted? "
Heeseung's brows furrowed as he looked at her. "What? " He couldn't believe what he heard.
"I had a situationship with someone before, he studies in your university. " She started. "It was secret, no one knows about us. It's his idea and I don't know why I settled with that honestly. "
She chuckled. "We never became official even though our feelings were mutual that time. We just settled with being just... that. "
"I remember going to your university not because of Sora but because of him. I remember the communication we had- we actually never had a problem, or at least that's how I see it. That's what I know so I don't understand why he suddenly stopped communicating with me. "
"Why he ghosted me... I don't understand until now. " She added.
"Yeojin, " Heeseung called her, hands began caressing her shoulders in attempt to comfort her. "You don't deserve that. "
She smiled. "That's the real reason why I hate your university. Not because it's our rival school or anything but it's because I was bitter.... Still is, actually because you know, I don't deserve being ghosted. "
"But don't worry, I no longer like him. I no longer have feelings for him. " She immediately added, assuring the man next to him.
"I'll never leave you, Yeojin. " Heeseung spoke after a few minutes. He wanted to assure her he is different, that he will never do that to her. "You have my word. "
She snorted then burst out laughing. "I know, you already ditched your exam for me- " She stopped then smiled playfully.
Heeseung raised a brow while looking down at her.
"Actually, I'm not convinced. " She then tapped her forehead. "I'll only believe you if you kiss me right here. "
Heeseung snorted then chuckles. He shook his head but didn't answer. He just remained silent and that made Yeojin pursed her lips, she's starting to sulk once again.
"You're a scam, " she spoke then began mimicking his voice. "I'll do it once you get better- tsk, a day already has passed hello? Where is my kiss? "
She rolled her eyes when he just chuckled.
"See? Tsk tsk, really a scam. I should file a case against you for fraud- "
"Baby, " he interrupted her. "You talk too much. "
The next thing Yeojin knew is his lips pressed against hers.
