When PROMISE and ENHYPEN team up to enter a haunted mansion.
The anticipation was electric as PROMISE and ENHYPEN gathered outside the haunted mansion, ready for their latest adventure. The teams were set: you, Heeseung, Jungwon, and Sunghoon in one group; Minji, Jen, Sunoo, and Jay in another; Jake, Ni-Ki, and Hana in the third; and Sera, Yuna, and Lina in the last. The mission was clear: find as many hidden keys as possible throughout the mansion. The team with the most keys would win, and the losers would have to do whatever the winners asked for an entire day.
Flashlights in hand, your group stepped inside the mansion. The air was thick with suspense, the only sound being the creak of the old floorboards beneath your feet. Sunghoon joked with Jungwon, teasing him about being the shortest and the leader, which Jungwon took in stride with a playful glare.
Jungwon quickly came up with a plan to split up into pairs to cover more ground. "Sunghoon, you're with me. Heeseung, you stick with Y/N," he directed.
You nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. Heeseung had always been close to you, but there was an unspoken tension between you two that neither had addressed. As you ventured deeper into the mansion, Heeseung stayed close, cracking jokes about the portraits and eerie decor to lighten the mood.
"Look at this guy," he said, pointing at a particularly grotesque painting. "I think he woke up on the wrong side of the coffin."
You laughed, the sound echoing through the dark hallway. But your laughter was cut short when a figure in a clown mask suddenly jumped out from a hidden door. Both of you screamed, and Heeseung instinctively grabbed your hand, pulling you as you ran out of the room.
"Let's not go that way again," you said, breathless but grinning despite the scare.
Heeseung nodded, squeezing your hand reassuringly. "Agreed. Let's stick together, okay?"
The rest of the mansion was filled with equally terrifying moments. Shadows moved in the corners of your vision, eerie whispers seemed to follow you, and more masked figures appeared unexpectedly, causing you to scream and clutch onto Heeseung for dear life. At one point, a skeleton hand reached out from a wall, making you jump and nearly drop your flashlight. Heeseung laughed, but his grip on your hand tightened protectively.
Despite the scares, you managed to find several keys hidden in various nooks and crannies. Heeseung found one behind an old dusty book, and you discovered another in a creepy porcelain doll's hand. The adrenaline kept you both moving quickly, searching every corner with determination.
Eventually, the game was called, and all the teams gathered outside the mansion to count their keys. Your team had found the most, securing the victory. Cheers and high-fives went around, with Sunghoon and Jungwon teasing the others about the upcoming day of servitude.
As the excitement died down and the cameras were turned off, Heeseung pulled you aside. His usual playful demeanor was replaced with a nervous but genuine expression.
"Y/N," he began, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I know we've been friends for a while, and tonight was a lot of fun, even with all the scares. But... there's something I've been meaning to ask you."
You looked at him curiously, your heart beating faster. "What is it, Heeseung?"
He took a deep breath, meeting your eyes with a hopeful gaze. "Would you go out with me? Like, on a real date?"
Your surprise quickly turned into a wide smile. "I'd love to," you replied, feeling a mix of happiness and relief.
Heeseung's face lit up, and he reached out to take your hand once more. "Great. How about we plan something for this weekend? No haunted mansions, I promise."
You laughed, squeezing his hand back. "That sounds perfect."
