Z2 POV

1940

In waters near Stockholm, Sweden

I looked northeast, toward Finland. Finland has been arming against the Soviets but Finland has almost nothing to defend themselves, so we have been sending them stuff. Normally, it would be a convoy with cruisers and destroyers covering for them. But, with the North African company and most ships in commerce rating. With all of that, Leaving some destroyers to do the supplying. Today, was my day to transport supplies to them. Most of the other destroyers who went before me said that it was a peaceful and beautiful trip.

I walked to the bridge of my ships and looked at my naval charts of the Baltic Sea and the water borders of the surrounding countries. I was about halfway to Finland but I noticed that I was in the Swedish Maritime border. I looked at another chart of all of our allies and enemies, seeing if Sweden was friendly or not. I looked down and didn't see Sweden in both so I guessed they were neutral. I corrected the course and walked to the port side of my ship, near G turret.

After about five to ten minutes of relaxing, I saw something getting closer. I instantly ran to the bridge of my ship and looked at my radar. It showed a ship that was a little bigger than me, I relaxed a bit, Thinking it was a destroyer and it was coming out of the Swedish waters. Most likely, asking what I'm doing here and let me go. I relaxed fully and kept going at the same speed.  I grabbed binoculars and looked at the incoming ship. It was a lot bigger and taller than a destroyer. I inspected the ship even more and realized what it was. "Coastal Battleship," I whispered under my breath. I put the binoculars down in my pockets, went up to my bridge, grabbed a book, and looked at all of the ships that Sweden had.

I got the page of Coastal Battleships and looked for the ones that operated in the Baltic Sea. There are 2 coastal battleships here, HSwMS Sverige and HSwMS Gustav V. Both are in the same class but their descriptions are different. Sverige was known for being annoying, arrogant, and stubborn. Most of the German navy hates him, however, his sister's reputation is different. She's calm, respectful, and understanding. I never met either one of them but from sisters who have, she is the better person and very beautiful.

I put the book down, grabbed the binoculars, and looked at my port side. The ship was still there, at the same pace. The radio started coming to life, "German ship, Stop and get ready for inspection." A voice said, it was hard to tell if it was a female or male but I didn't want to fight that thing, I put my ship to full stop. My ship leached backward and then started slowing down. After a minute, my ship didn't move and was just bobbing up and down on the water. After about 5, long, minutes, the costal Battleship was beside me. Tall and menacing. The two turrets, are in the same configuration as Graf Spee but the ship is more compact together. There was another turret, with smaller guns, behind the first one.

Even though it was smaller than a regular battleship or even a cruiser, it still had big guns. If the book is correct, the ship had four 11-inch guns. While looking at the ship, the radio came to life again, "This is Costal battleship, HSwMS Gustaf V, what are your intentions in Swedish waters?" A commanding Female voice went through the radio.  I grabbed the radio and responded, This is Z2 of the German Navy, I was heading towards Finland to supply them." It was quiet for a few seconds then responded. "Well, you entered Swedish water, I'll be escorting you out of our waters," The same voice said and the ship started going forward again. I put my ship to match the same speed as the ship. I kept my eye on them, seeing if anything changed.  Z23 told me before I left, that no matter if they are neutral or not, Sweden has an experienced navy.  So do what they say and I'll be fine.

While escorting me, I saw a tall woman leave the bridge with blonde hair and green eyes. She was wearing a male naval uniform, dark blue with white outlines. She looked very beautiful. I looked away and kept looking forward, trying to keep my head in the game. About 30 minutes later, we reached the edge of the border so she stopped. "You can head straight, you'll make it to Finland in about 5 hours." She radioed and waved at me. I waved back and grabbed a camera. I took a snap of a picture of her and sped off to Finland.
