Y/n POV

We arrived at Driftmark and immediately went to the cliff side where Laena will take to her final voyage to the afterlife. I stood near my brothers and mother as father stood further from us mourning over his sister deeply. I don't know what I would've done if either of my brothers died, I'd probably rain fire and blood on the person who killed them. Our great uncle Vaemond was making his speech in Valyrian.

"We join today at the Seat of the Sea to commit the Lady Laena of House Velaryon to the eternal waters, the dominion of the Merlin King where he will guard her for all the days to come. As she sets for her final voyage, the  Lady Laena leaves two true-born daughters on the shore. Though their mother will not return from her voyage, they will remain bound together in blood. Salt courses through Velaryon blood. Ours runs thick.." Vaemond said as he glared at my brothers. "Ours run true. And ours must never thin." Vaemond said as he stared at me softly. I hear someone laugh and I turned to see uncle Daemon laughing.

Why is he laughing at his own wife's funeral? That's very disrespectful especially to my cousins Baela and Rhaena who is crying in grandmother Rhaenys's arms. I feel mother caressing my hair as she pulls me closer to her as I held both of my brothers shoulders. Vaemond continues his eulogy as the Velaryon knights started pulling the rope of aunt Laena casket slowly. "My gentle niece. May the winds be as strong as your back, your seas as calm as your spirit, and your nets be full as your heart. From the sea we came. To the sea we return." Vaemond finished as aunt Laena's casket was pushed into the water. After the funeral we all went to a deck near a tower.

I stood near Jace as he held my hand as he quietly mourns over Ser Harwin and Lord Strong. Mother walked over to us. "Have you two seen your father?" She asked us but we shook our heads 'no.' Mother looks over to Baela and Rhaena who is sitting down and silently crying before mother turn to us again as she softly caressed our cheeks. "Your little cousins have lost their mother. They could use a kind word." Mother told us. "Yes mother." I said. "I have an equal claim to sympathy." Jace said to us. "Jace." I warned before Jace looked at me and mother. "We should be at Harrenhal, mourning Lord Lyonel and Ser Harwin." Jace told us. Mother looked around making sure no one heard us before looking back to Jace. "It would not be appropriate." I told him even though I also want to go to Herrenhal to grieve for the two men but I can't, as heir to the heir I should be here mourning over my aunt who I never met but heard so much about from my father.

Mother kneeled to us as she looked at Jace. "The Velaryons are our kin and the Strongs are not. Look at me. Do you understand?" Mother asked him in a whisper. "Y/n, you should go and be with Helaena." Mother said to me. I nodded as me and Jace went our separate ways. I walked up between Aegon and Aemond who looked at Helaena who has a spider in her hands. I looked over and see Baela holding Jace hand. "Hand turns loom; spool of green, spool of black; dragons of flesh weaving dragons of thread." Helaena said to herself. Another one of her dreams making me sigh softly at my betroth. Then Aegon spoke up from beside me. "You and Helaena have nothing in common, niece." Aegon told me. "She's our sister." Aemond told him. "You marry her, then." Aegon told him as I stood silent and watch Helaena. "I would perform my duty. If mother had only betrothed us but Y/n and Helaena has been betrothed since they were babies." Aemond told him as I silently agree with him.

Aegon scoffs. "If only." Aegon said as he drank his wine. "It would strengthen the family. Keep our Valyrian blood pure." I told Aegon who looked at me incredibly. "She's an idiot." Aegon said as he pointed at Helaena. "She's Y/n future queen." Aemond told him getting tired of Aegon being an ass to Helaena. "You actually do have one in common." Aegon said as he grabbed another cup from a servant before looking at me. "You both fancy creatures with very long legs." Aegon said before leaving us. "Wench! Another!" Aegon yelled to the servant. "Sorry about him, niece." Aemond said to me. "It's quite alright. There's a difference between me and Aegon, I am loyal to my betroth unlike Aegon who probably doesn't care about his future betroth and will probably fuck a whore." I explained to him making Aemond laugh. We continued watching Helaena with the spider before Aemond left me.
