Every Eid holiday, me and my family always visit the Solo city. We always stay there 4—7 days. I found there many impressive things. Start from the way of people talk, their attitudes, and their behavior towards each other. But something caught my attention more. There were many kinds of food that I couldn't find in my place, Surabaya. Like Liwet rice, Kupat Tahu, Sate Buntel, Tumpang porridge, and my favorite is Srabi Solo. Have you eaten serabi solo before?
Srabi Solo is a traditional food from Solo, Central Java. It is made from a mixture of rice flour, coconut milk, sugar and a little salt. Sometimes Serabi Solo is given some toppings like banana pieces, chocolate, cheese, jackfruit, and other. Srabi Solo has a soft texture in the middle and crispy on the edges. The sweet and savory taste of coconut milk makes it very unique and delicious. There is one place that I can recommend to you. His name is Serabi Notosuman, the most legendary serabi sellers in Solo since 1923. I usually eat Srabi Solo when it is still warm. Sometimes I eat Srabi Solo as a snack in the morning, afternoon, or I eat it as dessert. Srabi Solo is my favorite traditional food from Solo.
