BANG. Ash's test tube burst into flames and smoke was everywhere. Then the fire alarm started blaring and everyone was screaming and rushing to get out. Mr Ford tried to get control of his class but it was pointless since he could barely be heard over the screeching alarm and screams of the children.

Ash smiled to herself as they all lined up on the field. The entire school was there even though the other classrooms weren't even affected. Just another one of their dumb school rules.

"OK, EVERYONE LINE UP IN YOUR FORM GROUPS SO THAT WE CAN TAKE ATTENDANCE!" bellowed the head teacher. Ash quickly ran to her place next to Alicia in the line.

"Girl, I can't believe you did that. Over a simple comment?" Alicia began.

"Please, spare me the lecture. That thing was so funny!" laughed Ash

"GIRLS! Something you would like to share with the class?" Mrs Hayley asked.

Ash felt her cheeks turn red as the entire class looked at her and snickered. At least it wasn't just her; Alicia was hiding her face in her blazer. Ha. Miss Goody-Goody finally got told off by the teacher.

She smiled as the teacher yelled names down the field.

"Jess! Diana! Alicia! Ash!" the names were hardly audible because of the wind but it didn't really matter because everyone already knew their place in line. This had happened way to often back in year 7 and 8.

Once this was over, the teachers brought their clipboards to the head and they talked amongst themselves while they waited for the cue to go inside. It always took so long to check for some reason.

Alya and May were exchanging glances at each other while trying not to laugh. Ash knew that feeling all too well; she was always separated from her friends in  primary school because she was a so-called 'problem child'. Teachers really didn't know the difference between being funny and being naughty, did they?
