CODY HARVILLE
Alpha Jason had returned from taking care of business, and while I knew we had things that needed to be talked about, I wasn't ready to leave Natalie. "Natalie is sleeping, Sir. I'd rather not leave her alone."
"This won't take long." I could tell he was growing impatient. "Like you said, she's sleeping, she'll be fine."
I knew better than to argue with my Alpha. "I'll be right down." I planted a quick kiss on Natalie's forehead, reluctantly but carefully slipped out of bed, and swiftly made my way downstairs.
Jason was standing at the counter with his arms crossed. He did not look happy. "I think you already know why I called you here."
"Yes, Alpha," I said, lowering my head.
"These little meetings are becoming way too familiar and I need it to stop. I'm getting sick and tired of having to constantly scold you lately like you're a disobedient child. I get that you found your mate in a very unconventional way and things were complicated and confusing and still are, but for Goddess sake man, you have got to stop being so reckless in front of humans."
"I know," I murmured. I felt ashamed. Even though I would never regret saving Natalie, I would risk everything for her, I was also pretty embarrassed that I couldn't keep my wolf under control when it came to her.
"Look, I don't like being the bad guy, you're my friend, my family, but being your Alpha, the Alpha of this pack comes first. Like I told you before, I can't keep turning a blind eye and letting things slide, and absolutely will not stand for the exposure of our kind and of this pack. You came so close to doing just that and if things hadn't have ended how they did, we could have all been in danger."
I nodded in agreement. He was right, it wasn't only just my life I put on the line, it was everybody's. Who knows what that asshole would have done if Natalie hadn't have shifted. It made me sick to my stomach thinking about it.
"No one needs to know the real details of what happened today." Jason took a quick look around, making sure nobody was around to listen in. "Natalie was kidnapped, she got scared, shifted and lost control. Her wolf had been repressed for so long, it was bound to happen sooner or later whether you were there or not. You were NOT there, you found her after the incident because of your mate bond." He shot me a look as if to confirm that I understood.
"Yes, Alpha," I said, a little shocked. I would have bet all my money on the fact that I was going to receive a punishment, but to my surprise, Alpha was covering for me.
Noticing my relief, Jason quickly continued. "You're delusional if you think I'm just going to let this go without some kind of repercussions." And there it was. "This is still a serious situation and Natalie's wolf is so untamed right now. Most wolves have undergone over ten years of training by her age and they've all been raised knowing pack ways and pack life. It's way too dangerous for her to be out in public in her condition, her wolf is too erratic from being caged for too long. Anything can set her off, even a simple disagreement."
I knew where he was going with this and I hated to admit it, but he was right. Allowing Natalie to be around humans could be catastrophic. I witnessed how feral she became with Dylan, her wolf took total control and she could barely comprehend what she had done when she came to. She would never forgive herself if something like that were to ever happen again, and I could never forgive myself for letting it happen.

Werewolf** "Hey," I squeaked back. I didn't know why he was so intimidating, but for some odd reason, I kind of liked it. It wasn't a scary intimidating, I wasn't afraid of him at all. He was intriguing, sexy, and a man who screamed danger, but at the same...
