"Jiwon, right? " He asked, breaking the silence between them.
Jiwon had to stop herself from rolling her eyes. "I don't know, don't talk to me. "
Instead of being offended, he was amused by her attitude and it shows when a dimple was formed as a smile appears on his lips. He pushed the cart and follow the girl to the other section.
"If you're going to buy fish, check the eyes. You'll see there if they are fresh or—"
"I don't care. I don't eat fish so you can keep your facts to yourself. " Jiwon dropped the fish and began to another section once again with him following behind her with her cart.
She is keeping her time doing her grocery. No, she is not doing it because she wants to be with that snu man. She's keeping her time because she doesn't want her peace to be completely ruined.
It is ruined already for having a stranger from that school by her side, she won't make it worse by pressuring herself to do it quickly.
However, throughout the grocery, the man would always open his mouth and would attempt to talk to her by giving her advice what she should buy, the best brand and stuff which she always ends up telling him to shut his mouth.
Because first, she did not ask him. Second, she doesn't care. Third, can he just mind his own business?
After sometime, Jiwon finally went to the cashier. The man stopped by the counter and put the goods on top to get punched.
450,000 won.
After seeing the numbers, Jiwon internally cursed. She took her card and handed it to the cashier.
Jiwon's brows furrowed when the woman keeps on swiping the card while shaking her head.
"Is there a problem there, miss? " She asked, her brows furrowed in confusion.
"It's declining, ma'am. "
What?
"Ma'am, it keeps on declining. Do you have other card or cash? "
Jiwon started getting nervous. "I don't have cash here... Can you try again? "
Just like earlier, her card was declined. The woman do it again and again, but the result is still the same.
Fuck!
Seeing her distress, the man from SNU butt in. "I'll pay for—"
"NO! " Jiwon burst out. "I don't need your help! "
"Ma'am, if you don't mind, there are a lot of people in line waiting. "
"Here, " Jay gave his black card to the cashier, not budging from the glare Jiwon is throwing at him.
She didn't protest. Not when the cashier was right. There are a lot of people waiting. She already caused a scene by yelling at the man, she can't create more disturbance.
"You're welcome. " The man spoke, pushing the cart consist of her grocery out of the Blue Mart.
"I did not thank you but ok— The hell?! " Jiwon immediately ran back to the entrance of the Blue Mart when rain started pouring.
"Where's your car? I'll drive it here— "
"If I do have a car, I already left you right here and then! "
"Oh... You'll commute? "
"I thought you guys are genius? " She shakes her head while rolling her eyes.
Jiwon knows she should fix her attitude, especially that the man did nothing but to help her. But she couldn't help it. She's from Yonsei and holding a grudge to anyone from their rival school is normal....
The man smiled, not offended at all. "It's pouring, I don't think it will stop anytime soon. "
Jiwon didn't answer. She just gripped her phone and watch the highway being covered with darkness and rain.
"If you don't mind, I can drop you to your pla—"
"You talk too much, just leave already. I don't want your help! "
He looked at her then broke into a smile. "I guess I'll wait with you here then. "
"Do whatever you want, as if I'd care. "
He chuckled from her response. He shakes his head and pull the cart to the side to not block the entrance.
"Alright. "
Jay didn't leave her side that night.
