The grand dining room of the Hwang mansion was lavishly decorated, with a crystal chandelier casting a warm glow over the long mahogany table set with gleaming silverware. Despite the luxurious setting, a heavy tension filled the air.
Hyunjin sat at one end of the table, his tall, muscular frame exuding an aura of cold indifference. His sharp, dark eyes watched the door with a mix of irritation and resignation. His parents had been cryptic about the purpose of this dinner, but he had a sinking feeling about it. His black hair, falling to his shoulders, framed his striking face, making him look both regal and unapproachable.
The butler announced the arrival of the Lee family, and they walked in with confident smiles. Mr. and Mrs. Lee, the heads of Lee Entertainment Company, took their seats with practiced grace. Behind them was Felix, his blonde hair shining under the chandelier and his freckled face showing a polite, if forced, smile. His brown eyes met Hyunjin's for a fleeting moment, filled with confusion and unease.
Felix took a seat across from Hyunjin. The two young men were stark contrasts—Hyunjin's aura dark and brooding; Felix, bright and approachable. Yet tonight, Felix's usual sunny disposition was dimmed by the same tension that gripped Hyunjin.
As everyone settled, Mr. Hwang stood and tapped his glass, the sound piercing the quiet room.
"We have an important announcement," he began, his voice commanding. "Our families have decided to unite our companies through marriage. Hyunjin and Felix will be married to strengthen our business ties and secure our future."
A stunned silence followed. Hyunjin's expression remained stony, but his eyes flashed with anger. Felix, on the other hand, looked like he had been slapped, his mouth slightly open in shock.
"This union," Mr. Lee added smoothly, "will bring our families closer and ensure the continued success of our companies. Hyunjin and Felix are a perfect match."
Hyunjin's jaw tightened. He hadn't been given a choice, and now his life was being decided for him. He glanced at Felix, whose wide-eyed disbelief mirrored his own feelings.
