Faye woke up to her alarm clock buzzing on her bedside table. She groaned louder than the damn clock as she stretched her arms wide, cracking a few bones in her well rested body. With eyes closed she waited for her familiar little fluff of fur to jump on her just as her routine normally went. It didn't take long though, as she heard the small barks of her baby pomeranian and soon enough Faye was brought back to lie on her bed with her dog licking her face with a tickle.
“Good morning my baby!” Faye coo'ed, holding the tiny puffball closer to her face and giving it the same kisses she received.
Her mornings were spent like this. Her alarm ticks off, she stretches out the sleep off her body, coddles her baby pomeranian and then gets up to eat breakfast and take a shower. Then she'd wait for her phone to ring from someone's call and then she'd be outside doing her business.
She owned a few chains of businesses with her friends, all of which she co-owned and only ever invested in. She had a total of four businesses up and running with four of her friends basically managing the place while she runs around the world to travel and do whatever. Faye was an entrepreneur, she invested on other people's business and made great profit. She was always on the move, she had zero plans to open up her own business at all and stay anywhere permanently. She just preferred to travel and have fun. Whatever she earned would be splurged on plane tickets and hotel and tour bookings. And despite being a big spender, Faye was still included in the Billboard 100's top richest women in Thailand and America. Not like that ever mattered to her.
Faye chuckled to herself as she opened a newly issued magazine by Forbes and once again seeing herself on the cover. She forgot about the interview she did for them just a month agp, it was about her secret to success.
“So what's your secret, Miss Malisorn?” The interviewer asked, eagerly staring at her.
Faye just smiled wider as she looked at the set of people in front of her, unseen from the camera. She knew they were expecting words of encouragement about trying your best and never giving up as an answer. But Faye loved to be spontaneous. She loved to confuse people.
“I don't have a secret.” She answered. Crossing a leg on top of the other as she listened to the backstage murmuring at her response. The interviewer urging her to say more.
“I never tried to be rich. My family and the generations before me were already rich and successful as it is. I just did what I knew was easy and fun. I tried less and just did more. I mean why try to compete in the business industry when I could just have my own fun and do random things while I earn money. That's why I never burn out. Fail or win, I get happiness and satisfaction of being able to do things.” Faye grinned. “Just stop trying, cause that means you're conscious about the outcome rather than the journey. Just do it. Whatever it is. Just do it. If it fails, it fails. So what? At least you tried. Did you guys think I wanted to try out winning a pageant? Heck no. I just wanted to walk on a runway and pose for the camera while also saying what's on my mind. I didn't care if I won. I just did it for my own reason. I didn't think I'd win either.”
Faye laughed, closing the interview as she did so. She thanked the staff for having her and left them all with a new thought on her name.
Faye Malisorn Boasts About Not Trying For Anything. Miss Rich and Arrogant.
Faye for sure was gonna get another call from her agency with the headline. She knew this was gonna happen. She just didn't care. Her phone had rung just as she finished reading the first few pages of the recent issue and Faye prepared herself from getting yelled at.
“Faye Peraya Malisorn!” There it was. Her manager, Wan, scolded through the phone. “What did you do this time! I left you to do an interview for once and you manage to cause another spur on the media.”
