"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOU'VE NEVER CELEBRATED HALLOWEEN?!" Pandora squealed, drawing the attention of the others in the Great Hall on the morning of October 31st. "That is just not acceptable!" She shook her head vehemently, her long blonde hair swinging with each motion.

"My family just never celebrated it." Anastasia shrugged, feeling a bit defensive. "They always said it was improper and it was for dirty Muggles who want to be like wizards and that it's a day in which the wizarding world gets too close to the Muggle one. Which, is wrong of them, correct?"

"Correct." Rory confirmed, nodding his head wisely. His dark eyes were serious as he looked at her. "It is wrong of them to say that Muggles are dirty. Muggles are not the enemy; they are people too. Just like us."

"Just like us," Anastasia echoed, her cheeks flushing red. She was still new to unlearning the prejudices her parents had raised her with. She felt she was making good progress, but sometimes she needed reassurance, just to double-check.

"Besides, Pandora is right." Rory nodded his head, cutting up his jack-o-lantern shaped waffles (the elves had gone all out with Halloween-themed food). "We have to do something. It's your first real Halloween; we have to make it special!"

"Okay." Anastasia accepted, her curiosity piqued. "But I wouldn't know where to start! What does one usually do on Halloween?" She asked, feeling a little embarrassed for not already knowing.

"First," Pandora said decisively, a mischievous glint in her eye, "we need costumes. You've missed out on Halloween enough, and we're going to make up for it today. Come, let's go back to our dorms!"

Pandora led Rory Anastasia to the Ravenclaw tower, and the girls went up to their dorm. On the way, Pandora and Rory explained how Halloween in Hogwarts worked.

The Ravenclaws had a long tradition of trick-or-treating within their dorms. Each dorm picks two to three people to go from dorm to dorm and trick-or-treat, whilst the others stay back to hand out the sweets. At the end, each dorm piles their sweets together and divides them equally.

After, when everyone is full of sugar and changed out of their costumes, the whole school gathers for a Halloween feast.

Pandora began to dig around in her trunk, finally pulling out a dark-hairy piece of clothing with multiple legs coming out of it. "This is my spider costume," She held it up for Anastasia to see. "What are you going to wear?"

Anastasia looked at the costume with a mix of curiosity and confusion. "Well," She started. "Mother packed one of my best dresses, for special occasions. I could wear that, so I can be a proper lady." She said, moving to her closet and pulling out the blue dress.
