---
all of those months of cold, dark nights
have always known to be my cruelest moments,
but no part of me predicted that the lights
will find me across like much awaited comets.
no, I didn't see it coming,
but it was meant to happen.
and so, the olive garden covered me
and held me so dearly;
no leaf has ever told me to let it all be
and give up my anxiety.
what I thought was unbearable
turned out to be my solace,
and what I thought was my burial
turned out to be my chalice.
familial bonds, rainy months,
I gave up the summer I knew
for the beautiful spring of you.
familial bonds, rainy months,
I'll give up droughts of ages old,
oh, just to be your gentlest hold.
no, I didn't see peace coming,
but you were meant to happen.
